This suggestion sounds Excellant such a good Idea!!! Maybe show the chicken of the woods fungus (mushroom) I know it is rather common and is yellow but besides that, it's all I know about shrooms, that's really the only one that I really know about.

So glad that you guys got perfect weather for that move. But I cannot deny that Eric's vision of Brandon defiantly screaming "I got this!" into a massive storm would have been entertaining. Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't actually wish that on anyone, especially not you guys. But I'm sure we can all picture Brandon doing that, and the mental image makes me laugh. Really enjoyed the video, very interesting on moving the house, Little miss Iko seems to understand what was going on when you left her on the bank, when you were setting up the ropes and things. How lucky to have you as their neighbors, and vice versa. There is something to be said for having good neighbors, and it is not often in life you get to pick yours. I have to admit...the whole anchoring thing had me stressing for you a little bit. Just curious how they get to have a second structure on their build? I assume that it is storage or some sort of shop, but still covered space...

It’s just part of the original square footage allowed on their permit. If we wanted to we could have broken our house up into 2 structures too, it doesn’t matter how you lay it out as long as you don’t exceed the allotted square footage. Now once you’ve reached that max, you’re right, you couldn’t add another covered structure on the open dock area

I thank you for opening my eyes to the houseboat lifestyle. Didn’t know anything about it. There is a flaw in your tree saving logic however. Don’t forget you are living on a flooded valley that was filled with trees that ended up being killed.

No prob, thanks for watching! 🤠 I hear you, but you are referencing the historical human impact in general on an area, while I was discussing the difference location plays on the individual impact a homeowner can have by putting a home somewhere there previously wasn’t one. If we want to talk about human history as it pertains to trees in this valley, we could also talk about how this entire area was clear cut during the logging boom in the late 1800’s before the lake was even created, or the slash & burn agriculture of the cherokee for thousands of years prior to that. However, I don’t think any of that is relevant (other than being a scapegoat argument for more deforestation) to the discussion of the ecological impact of our individual housing choices today. 😊
