...That's why no one is trying to change sex, they're trying to change gender. Gender is a social construct that includes a gender performance, a set of behaviors, and an internal identity. Gender is why some men would literally rather die than walk around their house in a dress for a day. There's nothing about wearing a dress that is biological, it's a gendered social norm. I mean, if you're a man, would you wear a dress home alone for a day for $100? If your answer is no, and that feels violative to your being, you can now understand what the hell people are even talking about when they're referring to trans issues.

@@BeholdMyStrength BMS, Respectfully, I feel that you didn't read my initial comment. Nobody is denying that you're incapable of switching sexes. Again, YOU CAN'T MEANINGFULLY SWITCH SEX. Nobody is talking about that, nobody is disputing that. I worry that people on the left generally do a very bad job explaining their perspective. They're usually content to scold and belittle people who don't already agree with them. Perhaps you've only ever been scolded or talked down to on this issue, and I sincerely apologize if that's happened. I'm trying to put forth a distinction between biological sex and sociological gender. Will you wear a dress for $100 BMS? No? That's gender. I think people should be allowed to associate with whatever gender they like, considering so much gender stuff is about stuff having little to do with sex. Makeup, long hair, clothes... that kind of thing. The dispute we should be having is whether or not to socially accept people who'd like to switch gender. I'd like to ask what you think of that?
