SRNA hosted an Ask the Expert podcast entitled, "Transverse Myelitis: Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines" with medical experts Dr. Ram Narayan and Dr. Elena Grebenciucova. The experts began by explaining what transverse myelitis is, signs and symptoms, and how the diagnosis is made. They discussed acute treatments and how they decide which treatments to use for each patient. Finally, the experts talked about rehabilitation and what someone should do if they experience decompensation.

Hello Gary My husband is just diagnosed with post infectious transverse myelitis 10 days back... He was on steroids for 5 days n then has given IVIG for 5 days... He is able to walk on his own but catheter is still thr ..not able to pass his urine....bowl movement is normal .... May i know when will he able to pass his urine normally n back to shape?

@@artisharma9208 "So, you may not like my answer, as THIS IS IN NO WAY CLINICAL ADVICE, This is just a hope, and thought,... I feel your frustration along with your husband's If the Dr, allows it, I would try and become more physical, and move.. As it will seem VERY FOREIGN, He will have to get used to it... The time is still young, and keep positive that things will work out... Stay positive!

I was diagnosed 20 days back. I was given steroids for 5 days. but my condition detroited during stay in hospital and currently not able to walk now. doctor asked to continue steriod tablets and slowly stop it. he said there is no further treatment. can some guide next options in india

@@dhaneshchundru6519 after Steroid they can do plasma theropy. My mom is suffering for TM. U can join any Rehab center for exercises. Exercise is must you will get strength to functions. And main thing our mind is powerful so just focus on positive things n act accordingly. God bless 🤗

@@pallavimuskawad9142 I have done plasma therapy unfortunately it hasn't helped. Currently undergoing ayurvedic treatment. Hope it helps
