Liked the way you think about improving the trap side by side with the mercy twards animals
@nate-4083 жыл бұрын
Even if I'm going to disbatch them as soon as I see them there is no reason for the animal to be uncomfortable. I do catch non targets and occasionally pets that get out and roam. All can be released unharmed because of these modifications. Thanks for watching.

Just wrap a wet rag around the springs while you weld on the extra steel.

What if you can’t weld, can I Jb weld a lamination or baseplate??? Awesome video man keep it up good. To have you back
@nate-4084 жыл бұрын
I know you can weld every bit as good if not better than me bud lol but for someone who cant i would suggest making or buying the baseplates and laminations made from flat stock and bolting them on. This works well too. Glad to be here bud thanks for all the support.

Great video brother. What weld process are you using for mods? Tig stick mig? I'm definitely looking into a bender. This video was very informative thank you.
@nate-4084 жыл бұрын
TIG use whatever youve got bud. I tig everything because i can keep the heat to a minimum and put stainless on everything. Thanks for watching.

I have never seen a video comparing the cost (material AND labor) compared to the profits involved in trapping!?
@nate-4084 жыл бұрын
There is no profit in fur. The fur trade is in the tank. However trapping is still very necessary to keep predator numbers in check. I will always trap regardless of fur prices. I trap to help landowners and to keep the ecosystem healthy. I buy quality traps and recomend everyone do the same or buy cheaper traps and improve them. These improvements will make them easier on the animals be it a coyote or perhaps a non target like a neighbor's dog or a stray. Landowners appreciate this sort of thing and it will give you a good reputation as well as all trappers you are setting an example for everyone. You probably wont ever make a profit on fur alone. You can however charge people for your service and make a business out of it. Thats ultimately up to you but i usually earn enough money to cover bait, lure, gas and maybe some new traps. Trapping is a labor of love you wont make it big unless you make it a full time business like Clint Locklear or Jeff Dunlap as well as others. You do it because you love it, its necessary and you love getting out and enjoying God's beautiful creation. Take care bud thanks for watching.
