I am a truck driver and I need everyone to understand something…the truck is attached and held on solely by a latch that is holding a king pin approximately the size of a fist or smaller. This is AMAZING to say the least that the latch didn’t release. That woman had an angel keeping her. Once I really looked at the scene pictures all I could do is cry. I know she was terrified!!!!

Nothing to do with the weight in the trailer, but the connection between the trailer and cab. that kind or strain on it isn't normal and it's a miracle it held. Beyond that, there's no way that the center of gravity on the trailer is on the road side of the rail. Not tilted at that angle. It seems it got wedged in the beams of the bridge and that's the only thing that save the truck from going over.

Tractor weighs 12,000, driver should be fired, 35moh and failed to maintain control, crossing 2 lanes of traffic and a pedestrian walkway and the pickup hit her left side, normally you would go right, not left.

The person who hit her was charged, as he was driving with a suspended license and other drivers said he was weaving in and out of cars before he hit her. He's at fault.

Of all the places to drive off a bridge, that was the absolute BEST one. This chick's guardian angel was working overtime hanging onto that King Pin! There's no way it should have held on in that position for that length of time. The *rappelling* firefighter (news team needs a new editor) needs a raise as well. That cab could have broken free at any point, sending them both swimming. Balls of steel, has he. The Driver also gets kudos, as it appears she hasn't panicked; even while being extricated from the window. Happy all has ended well. I do hope her dashcam can be recovered, and recorded the cause. My money is on an ID10T 4-wheeler, but I'm a cynic that way.
