What spiked my anxiety the most is when you talked about how his position in the cave forced his heart to work overtime to pump blood. The rescuers basically had a limited time to save him. Added with the fact all throughout his same position receiving water or food impossible?! It's all to much 😫

What’s terrible about this is a man had to be trapped in there, and die due to being unable to be rescued before they sealed the cave, despite many having been stuck before. And the fact that he was so kind and concerned about the people rescuing him while he was suffering says a lot about the person he was. I feel so bad for the love of his life and their child that he did not get to meet

In my opinion Cavers are seriously disturbed. I'll admit that I'm somewhat claustrophobic, but that aside it just seems extremely dangerous. I don't understand the enjoyment people get from terrorizing themselves. Interesting story. I hope you and your son have a fun Halloween 🎃 Be safe!
@Boing2699 Жыл бұрын
I think it’s like a love of nature mixed with a love of adventure mixed with being an adrenaline junkie. I think to a lot of people, skydiving seems a lot less scary, which is a little funny to me. People can get into caves on their own. Ever since people have existed, they were able to get into caves. But skydiving? Humans are not meant to be up that high and they are not meant to free fall like that. All of that being said, I would NEVER go into a cave I had to crawl into in my stomach. I’ve only ever been to those tourist attraction caverns. Caving sounds kinda fun to me, but ONLY if it was a cave that was very very hard to get lost in. I think the worst cave stories I’ve heard are the ones where people get stuck scuba diving in underwater caves. Awful.

When my kids were little they had a variety of these toys that involved putting the right shape or size of shape, in the right hole, in the correct position. My cousin and I found a cave somewhere in New Mexico or Arizona. Can’t remember the exact location. We had to climb down into it, it was dark. We were not prepared. All we had were our phones. My profile picture is actually the cave we went in. However, once we reached an area infested with bats, we knew it was time to clim back up.

I think the common reasoning for why he didn't turn back sooner is they were looking for the 'birth canal' which is narrow but traversable and eventually opens into a room where you can turn around, but obviously he just went too far not realizing he was not in that spot until it was too late
@patsytravis7203 Жыл бұрын
That is why I will never do things like that. My family and I went to this aquarium that had a tunnel and you could pop up to look inside the penguin habitat, which you felt inside. Super cool, but I got stuck and panicked so bad. Full blown meltdown. Yall I just needed to calm down and was able to get myself out. NEVER AGAIN.

Technically the pulley system WAS working. They almost got him out even. The issue was one of the pulleys basically dislodged because the clay was loose and knocked one of the rescuers out, like, concussion level knocked out. The whole plan failed. x.x

Apparently the issue with the "Idk why he didn't back out" thing is because by the time he was in, he couldn't get out because he made the mistake of going headfirst in a tight space, he could only move with his chest and fingers, since it was that tight. Not trying to put blame on him, but I heard that you should never EVER do that when doing spelunking and I'm not even a spelunker.

I went snowmobiling with my boyfriend last January and our tour guide took a turn off the path. We didn’t see it so we kept going and ended up in the middle of the forest stranded as the sun was setting (6 ft+ of snow and not a soul for miles). It was the most terrifying experience. After a few hours, two random snowmobilers rode by and they couldn’t hear us screaming. I for sure thought we were going to die but thankfully my boyfriend stays calm under pressure. He hopped on his snow mobile immediately and chased after them.. and thankfully we caught up. They guided us all the way back to the lodge, we were nearly 20 miles deep into that forest in the heart of winter.. when we got back, the tour guide wasn’t even out looking for us. Mother Nature is no joke! Even if you have a guide, always be prepared for the elements.. and if you don’t, be EXTRA prepared! Worst experience of my life
