Hardest things to me 1. Forgiveness 2. Suffering without complaint 3. Submitting to doing things someone else's way 4. Receiving the truth, correction, suggestions without getting defensive 5. Telling others the truth 6. Embracing silence - avoiding the screen time to just meditate 7. Apologizing to others 8. Not judging other's behavior 9. Not comparing yourself to others 10. Not caring what others think

Lord Jesus, your lesson of forgiveness is very clear. You desire your followers to imitate You, to “love one another as You have loved them.” Teach me this humility and gratitude that will lead me to patiently pardon all of those around me. 🙏

“A brother questioned Abba Poemen saying, 'I have committed a great sin and I want to do penance for three years.' The old man said to him, 'That is a lot...I myself say that if a man repents with his whole heart and does not intend to commit the sin any more, God will accept him after only three days.” God bless, Jeff Cavins.

Excellent Jeff! Thank you. Forgiveness is very hard to do, but with God's grace it can be done. If God could forgive those who crucified him "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" we can do the same.

Most of us aren't strangling our enemies. So, what exactly does unforgiveness look like? I pray for the person who hurt me deeply. I can't forget that they did, and I've been advised to keep my distance from this family member. Is this harboring unforgiveness? What does forgiveness look like when someone doesn't change and causes lots of strife?
@AmalAms Жыл бұрын
I think forgiveness is genuinely willing the good and the salvation of the other and doing what is necessary to help when it is necessary according to our resources and keeping them in our prayers. It is also keeping our distance calmly and not enabling them to easily hurt us more. May all the martyrs help us in figuring this out every day. For whenever we suffer or accept our suffering for the sake of our souls and that of the others, we are like martyrs for God and His love. Even we may not understand the whole picture. But God knows and He cares. Christian life is not easy. It is taking up our cross and following Him. He is our reward. God bless us.

self-respect, self-love, healthy boundaries, and trust that our BFF Jesus will be right there the whole time and that God knows your heart. im about to move back where i grew up and will be 3 blocks away from my most difficult family members. it is going to be a challenge. i say dont forget what they did but pity them for their inability to spread peace and love. at this time, i am finding the one i need to forgive is myself for not having enough faith and letting their words cause me so much pain. believe in your reality, not their subjective perception of you and the jealousy/envy, etc., that fueled it. i too have prayed...it's actually my meemaw who has hurt me the most. shes soo angry at the world. ive spent way to0 much energy (im 43 and ive been aware of her "stuff" since i was a child) empathizing with her pain that i literally get sick after i spend time with her. i think forgiveness looks like not being affected by their bullets anymore. and if you gotta go "gray rock" then do it. and if you HAVE to be around them, listen to or read something that inspires and keeps you focused on what your goal is. it is not an easy task. ill be thinking of you! re: strangling our enemies...sometimes it feels like the my rxns to the hurt is really strangling myself! xoxo and take care, Alyssa

I think the question might be: to test your forgiveness. If you were at a gathering and were to see them, would you make it a point to avoid them - or, rather, attend the event and treat them no differently than anyone else. If they avoid you - great - but if they approach you, would you still treat them respectfully? I'm not saying ask them out for coffee, but treat them civilly and with kindness - as you would someone who hasn't hurt you? And, of course, it goes without saying to pray for their good will (not pray that they see the errors in their ways).

I've done a lot of work over the years to forgive others who have hurt me, usually by praying for them. And I think I've done a good job of it. However, what's frustrating is when God won't answer your prayers for healing from the damage caused by the people who you've forgiven. It's that lack of response that really makes me want to turn my back on God as he hasn't really 'freed' me then.
@AmalAms Жыл бұрын
Shift your focus to doing acts of love for God and neighbour. When you are too busy doing that, you don't have enough time to reflect on and stay in your damage. You heal by both forgiving and giving without so much pause and until youare exhausted physically. When and where, we have enough time to brood over, we feel sick by continuously going over the past. Let Jesus help you to recover and resurrect from your damages. Praying the "Litany of humility" helps too, specially during 3 to 4 pm. God bless you and gift you with peace and healing.

@@markbrown9558you can’t just give up. Nowadays People want prayers to be answered immediately which won’t happen immediately so be patient and wait. It’s a hard task but it’s worth it

I'm sorry for what you're going through. Sometimes, the unanswered prayers are the best answers we can get. Not all will be healed. "God's grace is enough!" Perhaps you are looking for physical response? Offer your pains and sufferings to the Lord and don't take it back. Trust in the Lord. Perhaps you are not healing because when you pray, you allowed the heartbreak and the damaged done to you to take up residence in your heart. Be at peace in the Lord. If it helps, take a rock and offer it the Cross (don't let your pride stand in the way of your peace, mercy and salvation). Leave it there. That's your heartbreak and sufferings done to you. Don't take it back. It might take months or even years... but God does not abandon you. What you are suffering right not does not compare to the glory of God when we finally see HIM in HIS kingdom. Lifting you up in prayers. May the peace of the Lord be with you. God bless!

and I also don't understand attempts to solve the situation by seducing me. It's unfair. It's stupid and dirty. And nobody can do anything with me, and I've said it many times. Look how Schmitz likes to seduce girls - it's strange how everyone ignores it like it's a tolerable thing - and he makes up some stupid loves - like God allows real love between a priest and someone - and the girls like it because they're weak and stupid. But if he tried to do something to me, then he'd back down and never be this playful again. A few people ended up exactly like that. People so underestimate me, I can laugh at every love, they're not sincere anyway.
