Is that all you got? 😂 Had me laughing hard. All the other boats drowned or got destroyed. You‘re the only trapper left. Trapper J Gump bringing you the prime fur. 😂 That badger looked great.

That grinner will probably be back in there tomorrow lol. I used to trap cats over here in KS, the ol opossum is a real hassle when it's warm. I haven't trapped in 7 or 8 years because of health. I sure miss it. Following your videos is a joy. Hope you catch a pile more of fur!!

That’s a cool start catching that Badger , another good day on the line. Your channel is blowing up bud, quality videos will do that. A kick ass intro doesn’t hurt either. Good job J , keep em coming when ya can.

Hi from Ireland, So glad I found your channel, great vids... your kayak looks bow heavy which will give you steerage issues on top of the wind problem, perhaps try having the traps behind you, it may make all the difference and help avoid over exertion ? Seems like I’m reminded of the 2nd and third mother in law as well pmsl 😂

That was pretty cool catching the badger . I never seen one out in the wild . There not to abundant here Indiana . From what I read there found more in the Northern part of the state .

Beautiful badger!👍 Don't mind the wind noise, it's not too bad. Keep on trapping.✌️ Damn them racoons, we kill shit here!
@sportclay15 жыл бұрын
You need to get yourself 2 things, a brush gripper and a cam/ clam/ jam cleat. fasten the cleat to the gunnel of the canoe and clamp the gripper on brush/dock/what ever. Jam the gripper cord in the cleat frees up both hands. Been using one for years for canoeing and kayaking. google it. probably won't cost more than $30 total. Badger makes the day! Shaving brushes...

When you get a muskrat carcass, put it where your mink sign is, cover it up with mud, make a funnel in front with a 110 blocking the funnel and you will get that mink
@TrappingTheMitten-JohnHowell5 жыл бұрын
@@captainthomas2023 that's a great tip. I put out several mink boxes but the bait just disappears. Today, I made a cage for the bait out of hardware mesh. We'll see tomorrow.
@captainthomas20235 жыл бұрын
I live in ohio, graduated school in Michigan, I have trapped both states. Mink and rats are my specialty ;) smoke fish is also killer on mink. Im not a fan of bait boxes. Time is $ on a line. I make little pocket sets the size of a baseball and smear smoked fish in them and put a 1.5 CS a hand width away. Awsome for coon and mink.... But when I have mink sign on a rat line, I use rat meat... Good luck. Keep me posted on how it goes for you

I hate this. Why do you kill animals like that!!! Its so common in the USA. The are mammals they suffer and feel pain just like you. Why do you do it???? Put yourself in their position. We are not in the 1800 anymore. Please
@timsworld93425 жыл бұрын
Good thing its winter so you dont melt.
@stevetaylor24454 жыл бұрын
There is a very good reason to trap animals beyond the economic benefits of marketing their fur. Consider for a moment man's impact on the planet, every settlement that people occupy displaces animals from their original land home. Then in order to feed the towns and city's more animals have to be crowded tighter and into smaller ranges because farmland needs to be cleared. Now people only take the very best land for themselves and force the animals into the lower food producing habitats. So over crowded populations of animals are over run with disease and routinely suffer starvation if not managed by people who caused the problem in the first place. No if you want to argue that people have occupied places in Europe for thousands of years and in the Americas for hundreds of years, think about the ever expanding nature of city's and the need to use less productive land for food production pushing the animals into ever less productive areas. Also consider that in the late 70s the earth's population was 3.5 billion-40 years later and our population is over 7 billion. It took 150 thousand years to get to 3.5 billion and doubles in 40 years, not even remotely sustainable!
