Great channel and great videos. Look for a new adventure every day and evening. Beaver trapping is by far the the toughest. Hvy duty waders are a must, but also most difficult to walk in when you have ice and sticks, lots of sticks. Great job all the way around.

Maybe you could also stick one of your dogless coon traps down in those hole with some beaver caster or fish? It's non-conventional, but it might be a creative solution. Do they make a conibear small enough that you can just cut slots in the sides of a waxed paper milk carton or cut the top of of a gallon milk jug instead of nailing together a wooden box? That new pond you discovered looks super sweet! Have you looked at the area on google maps or from above with your drone to see if those sneaky little bastards have any other little ponds in the neighborhood that they're using? Keep pumpin' out the great content....Lovin' it!

Try to catch that mink be sticking some of those small plywood Marten boxes with 110's in all of those holes he's sticking his nose in and bait with beaver meat or fish like they do up in Canada & Alaska. I bet you'll be whackin' and stackin' ! Keep in mind, I'm just a viewer not a trapper. But that's how I see them successfully catch Mink, Marten & those small white weasels. Good Luck Jay! It was fun to see how excited you get about Mink. You've definitely found yourself a water trapping honey-hole. I hope you catch yourself a beautiful jet black mink for the shop wall. I know you'd be stoked about that...

With that much mink sign there has to be plenty or muskrats & cottontails in the area. The rats & mink will be a problem on trail, run, crossover & bank den sets. Castor mounds will only work if the ice stays off ,but will avoid more of the non targets & up the beaver count. You'll really have to watch the weather if you use mounds, & hope for a break. If you see a break coming in the weather of a few days at 35 -40° be ready in advance, pound in a dozen castor mounds or more quick on the first morning of warm up & break & throw all the ice back for 6 foot around it,it should stay clear if its warmer ,you can make or dig out castor pocket sets up on higher banks where you see they climb out & tramp around. Use 220 conibear, put 2 short small sticks pointing in the dry pocket under the trap corners so it wont freeze down much, or wax some brown paper grocery bag mats. Place the real close to the lip of the pocket with is more narrow or smaller that the trap corners with stable sticks so when it fires it throws it self back over there head. You can put a little scent out side to attract better, but no bait. Make them smell for it,not reach. Buckets might work.
