This whole process works great. The vinegar cleaned up some footholds I almost threw away--now I'm using them again. The Full Metal Jacket is some good stuff.

Walmart has a cleaning strength vinegar that is twice as strong and eat the calcium off your toilet bowl. So I'll bet it would clean your traps faster. Just a thought.

+Lee Brown . After the Full Metal Jacket, you're done. Sometimes I let the first coat dry then dip in Full Metal Jacket again just for a second coat. Thanks for watching!!

Do you dye your traps first ? And have you had any problems with fmj since you made this video ? Got some new traps and I don’t want to put something on them that I will be disappointed with . Great videos by the way !

I'm biased tbh, but imo dyeing and waxing is tried and true. There's some nostalgia and sentimental aspects to boiling your traps. I did it with my dad and now my son's do it with me kinda thing. But the FMJ is still around so it must do something

Brand new traps that are shiny metalic color, cover in vinegar to start some oxidation and get the oil coating off. Spray off vinegar, let traps dry. Boil at a rolling boil with your dye for about 10mins +/- until you achieve your color your looking for. Pull traps out and let dry. Melt your wax. Dip said traps into wax and remove. Hang up to dry. Don't touch them again with your Bare hands or non trapping gloves. And your ready to set brotha!
