you should always have a piece of rope in your sleds, it can be used to open conibears by looping the end of the rope around the spring loops, securing the end with your foot or a tree and pulling, it'll bring the loops together for easy setting the safety hooks. it's light and compact but useful when you forget your setters, when done return it to the sled's box and leave it there for the next time.

@Woodenarrows because the trap closes so tight and binds in the animal removing it wen it is frozen can damage the fur severly i learned the hard way. the coni bear trap is a man stopper i broke my thumb once wen i was younger..be careful setting them
@stayingawake2013 жыл бұрын
Thanks bro, nice vid. Not going well for me, but that's the learning process right? Better to learn now!

@TheWildNorth I have 1 last question for you. When you tan the hides do you use some solution to make the pelt soft and flexible like a rug? Thanks for your help

Hey man awesome job!! I was just wondering what ur leghold soft catches are they are probly #3 but are they 4coiled and I'm thinking of getting a few do u know if a 2 coiled one would hold a wolf where I trap there is a slight chance I'll connect with a wolf but if I ever do I wanna make sure it will hold him also the 2 coiled are about half of the price what would u recommend? Just off of personal preference what is your favorite brand of 330 for beaver? Thanks a lot! Happy trapping

@TheWildNorth13 жыл бұрын
@EmilysRabbitry ha ha theres no one or no ones dog within 200 miles of my trapline so im sure catches someones domestic dog is out of the question and the lynx die in a snare chokes them out less thena minute and i check my traps everyday. just think of the thousands of cute little bunny rabbits i saved from trapping the lynx rabbits are there main diet.and i eat the lynx meat and what dont get eatin the weasels and mink and other animals eat it so it all goes back in the system

@EmilysRabbitry would you save an animal before a person? Lets just say you had the power to save someone from an attacking animal. All you had was a big stick, would you club the animal or the person? Just a thought...

@SpliffSized Ever heard the saying "Never argue with an idiot. They will just lower you to their level and beat you with experience"? These people have no sense of reality. Or any clue how much damage their beloved Cats and dogs do when they let them run loose. Let them spend a day outside of their air conditioned homes. Might do them some good.

@EmilysRabbitry these animals are hunter predators just like me. its survival of the fittest! do you feel bad for the thousands of rabbits 1 lynx kill yearly
@MrArcticBlood13 жыл бұрын
@EmilysRabbitry You animal lovers are so worried about these animals. What about all the starving animals. Your letting all these predator animals starve. I think all you animal lovers should go and feed these animals so the dont die a cruel death since you are obviously so worried about them. Give yourselves in a final selfless act to feed these hungry animals seeings how us cruel hunters and trappers don't care that much for them. Show your true love for the hungry animals.

@EmilysRabbitry have you ever seen a cat kill and eat its prey? That is cruel. They play with their prey, tormenting it before they kill it to eat. Rabbits die fast in a snare. They don't sit an choke to death, it is fairly quick an painless for them. Unlike being torn apart alive. And rabbits are worthless for pelts due to rabbit farms for fur. We eat these rabbits we snare and use the hide for bait for catching the other animals that prey on your so called lovable pets.
@SpliffSized13 жыл бұрын
@EmilysRabbitry thats is his way of life, even before white people came to this side of the planet, its not for sport its for survival, even for him that is his job today. so before you start opening your mouth think about the culture you are putting down first. im native and this is kinda rude.
@TheWildNorth13 жыл бұрын
@EmilysRabbitry Thats gross so you let those filthy rabbits run freely around the house so they can shit all over the place.you like living in a shithole a rabbit shit like every 5 seconds thats just disgusting how can someone live like that i hope the neighbours dog eats your filthy rabbits
@MrArcticBlood13 жыл бұрын
@EmilysRabbitry well you really need to get your head screwed on right. I know I would do my best to preserve the life of a person over an animal. No matter whom it would be. So lets say if it was your little cousin getting attacked by a cougar you would club your little cousin. That is one of the most discusting things I've heard from a bleeding heart animal lover. But I guess that is survival of the fittest hey. You would give up a human life to feed an animal.
