The first two minutes do an excellent job at describing the anticipation involved with trapping. It's a rush that never gets old. The GoPro stuff is really good. The getting water shots are as realistic as it gets. Guys around here use the chainsaw early in the season and then place an insulated roof made from styrofoam and 2x6's to stop the hole from freezing too thick. Or get yourself an ice auger with a 10 inch bit! The days are getting longer. Enjoy the bush before the flies. Thanks.

Great question, and great answer. I was the kid who cried watching Bambi, but now hunting is a passion. Thanks to Andrew and others like him, I've bought my first traps and plan on getting my kids involved in trapping. There is a common misconception that outdoorsman are a bunch of filthy bastards that just love to see animals die. Nothing could be further from the truth. An outdoorsman is one who respects nature like no other. Thanks neuro for inquiring so respectfully. Peace, from Ben in WV.

The creativity of this video is outstanding! Not only do you have superior bushcraft skill you are an artist! The snow is very deep up there. is that normal? I'm 62 and making a path thru our 12 inches of snow to tap my maple trees (1/2 mile loop) nearly killed me. Waist deep snow, not a chance for me. To be young again. Thanks for your hard work.

You do the best videos! They're GREAT! Does your 17 HMR like any one particular ammo over another? The spruce grouse here in Idaho must have a wider variety of stuff to eat. Ours don't seem to taste like spruce. They are dumber than a box of rocks, however, compared to a ruffed grouse or blue grouse.

Andrew thankyou for all the videos, totally awesome! Im a carpenter who has done a bunch of taxidermy,hunting,fishing,falconry and photography. Trapping looks like an interesting challenge im adding to my bucket list. Winchester just produced a new rimfire round .17 cal 20gr bullet@3000 fps and 400ft/lbs @ the muzzle! Might be sweet for trapline use, Savage is chambering a new rifle for it called the Bmag with the accutriger set-up. Check it out man. ironnoggin

Yes I understand fully what you are saying and I wish more people would think a bit deeper than just, hunting is fun, or all killing of animals must be banned...There is a BIG grey area between those opinions, and that grey area is very important to the enviroment. People like Andrew needs to continue hunting/trapping to manage the population so the forests and all the animals there can have balance. A lot of people don´t get that. I am vegan, and I get that, and I enjoy Andrews videos a lot.
@neuroleptika11 жыл бұрын
No problem! There is a few assholes out there who get off on killing animals and torture them, but serious hunters and trappers should not be put in that category automaticly, I think it´s sadly what is happening in the general public. They can´t see/comprehend the difference between a sick person torturing animals for pleasure, and a hunter/trapper that does this for all the right reasons and in the right way, and it needs to be done to manage population and keep all the animals alive and well.
