I love Altergeists as much as the next guy because Meluseek is crack cocaine as a card, but I really do enjoy these hybrid back row decks. Everyone is used to seeing mish-mash combo decks, but it's fun to see 2 back row decks combined in 2019.

11:10 Why not play Lambda? It's better than LAN in every single way. Lambda only needs two monsters except tokens (you dont have any anyway) it has two downpointing arrows, 500 more attack, you can make Borrelsword with it and theoreticly if you want you could side gammas but even besides the gammas there is not a single reason to play LAN Edit: Lambda is also better than Beat cop

I just cut the frog engine in mine, traptrix paleos are the shit tho, they snowball similar to altergeist they might even be a tier 2 contender depending on how the format shapes up after the banlist.

GodzillaFreak honestly that can work. Most pendulum decks don’t need their normal summon, so using it to search a trap hole doesn’t sound to bad. Traptrix have problem to actually break boards, something that pendulums can do easily. But I don’t think Sera us worth being thrown in there because most traps would be bricks and you need more than 1 extra monster zone. So maybe with mythical endimion this could work best.

Frogs were my first love back in the Wetlands Beatdown/Frog Monarch days. I played a synchro version after the death of Substitoad and was very pleased to see Paleozoic come into play. It is good to see that things exist that still make the deck playable after all of these years regardless of the fact that the play style has drastically changed since the inception of the archetype.

so I was excited for this deck built it went to locals and went 2-3 because it just bricked every game it felt like. now i missed the stream where you played this deck so perhaps i'm doing a dumb and just missing some basic plays but it just felt like the sera got outed ever time before i could resolve any effects from it and with only one copy all the rest of the traptrix i drew didn't help. that and in 5 rounds i was only able to make toad in 2 games because i drew nothing but traptrix. idk if the ratios are wonky or if i just had THE WORST LUCK. but it would be really helpful if you posted some game play with this build so we could all see it in action, thank you.

If you have a problem with Thunder Dragon, I got a neat tech to use in the side Deck: Five Rainbow Magician Also, Chain Hole can be activated if the opponent activates a monster effect in response to a card or effect. This includes their card effects. In other words, Doomking will get negated if he responds to Vampire Sucker’s effect.

That's a super difficult question because yugioh has, for basically its entire lifespan, had broken search cards. Painful Choice is the obvious standout example, but what changed about search cards moving into the modern era is that they moved away from being generic to being specific to the decks that used them, and not just with normal spells that said "add 1 [archetype] card." You have stuff like altergeist marionetter setting one trap from deck, the overly convoluted way that salamangreat searches spells and traps. Searching became sort of embedded into the fiber of how a deck operated, instead of always being a one and done deal, and as a result each deck dealt with searching in a different style and tempo.

Considering you were talking about it, in your deck design for this video, it would be great if you made a video discussing the right number of "normal summon monsters" which a deck should have. There is a lot of naunce to that discussion. 40 vs 60 cards, brilliant Fusion decks, archtype necessary normal summons like Alister the Invoker, to stuff like Lonefire blosseums for predaplant combos, etc. Also day 103 of waiting for new Venom support - *Normal Summon* edition.

How does going second feel with this deck? Typically, there's a lot more removal to make going 2nd a lot easier. Doug's exact deck lacks a lot of that, so it's mainly open hand traps, and stop the opponent extending beyond turn 1

Marincess is going to be make paleo a heavyweight contender again and it will be meta, especially when everyone else is focusing on how to deal with the list. Chiramijumaru if he were playing pure traptrix then yes, it would be good to put pressure on board but it conflicts with the paleofrog engine because they need the extra deck space to work. You will need at least 3 spots for the paleo xyz, 2 toads and 2 mista boy just to make it work, which is a lot of investment
