In this era of 90s where cost was irrelevant & the genius mind of Bruno Sacco is when I as a child fell in love with Mercedes. The Day my Father came home with a 190e Cosworth😍😍 thank you patina for immortalising that era with all you do. 🤜🤛

Just like me. My dad came home with a 300 d w123. Like you i fell in love with Benz for ever.
@MrReese7 ай бұрын
Unfortunately the last era where the cost was irrelevant was the 1980s for Mercedes, not the 90s. The W140 was the last Mercedes that was built to a standard and not to a cost point and it was mostly made in the 80s with a release in the early 90s. The 90s saw the likes of W202 and W210 and the 3v engines that shared a lot of parts. Not to mention the birth of the Smart and the Daimler Chrysler merger.

This is why you never take the same route all the time. Never be too predictable for your potential enemies. Occupational awareness people.

Fortunately, ordinary nobodies like me can safely take the identical route every single day and no one gives a hoot. However, during my spy savvy years, I actually did meticulously change my routes and perform imitations of what I heard real spies would do to shake off their tails. Must have worked because they never caught me…

Have their bomb-resistant cars ever been tested by an IED and what was the outcome? Talk is cheap and we only saw what happened to cars without that protection. Superb video though… really interesting to see them at work. I don’t think I have ridden in an armoured car but I have stayed in a bullet proof hotel suite. I have a customer recognition status with the Intercontinental Hotels Group, which sometimes means I’m upgraded. I booked a club suite at the Intercontinental in Berlin, and my free upgrade landed me in the Presidential Suite that was constructed for Bill Clinton’s stay. I remarked on how you couldn’t hear a single thing despite overlooking Tiergarten, and I was informed that the windows were made to be bazooka proof!

Nice video. Very well made. - But next time please do the effort and put in the rear left jacking point cover (should be useable from every W126) and click in the front tow hock cover. The car deserves it to be present in mint condition. ;-) - Hoping for more great vids of yours. 🙂

Huh, new day, new knowledge. 8:36 shows ZIL-41047TB, created by Trasco Bremen in 1994 by themselves in attempt to get some orders from ex-soviet republics. Despite being build according to internal standards, they forgot to reinforce the suspension, and it quickly went to the bin. Later on these were used as reserve vehicles.

Gotta go back in time my man. Legendary Benz chassis are out there going for peanuts (granted needing plenty of deferred maintenance), but still. Old is Gold! Especially with Benz. If you haven't experienced the older ones, you might be in for a serious shock.

Pretty sure nowadays you can even order those kinds of stretched armored cars with slide-up, bulletproof privacy screens between the driver and the rest of the cabin. Not to mention, there's no customization that such a company cannot do, only something you have yet to think of. When you're spending that kind of money, as long as you're willing to spend more, there's nothing that you cannot request.
@PaganiZondaF650hp7 ай бұрын
I didn't know that Trasco once lead the game, as today the factory armoured cars lead the way and Trasco typically only offers lower grade bulletproofing for the s class and other limousines that are also factory armored. They do do the full bullet and bomb-proofing on suvs like the g-class though...

I think this beast weighs something close to four tons. If you've ever opened the door of an armored vehicle, it gives a new perspective on things.
