Same thing in Hawaii. Went to this beautiful beach that was almost pristine few years earlier and found it full of plastic trash. There was everything, from broken lawnmowers to pieces of boats and kayaks. Picked as much trash as we could with my two little boys but it was overwhelming. Sooo much of it.

How else do you think other countries can thrive? They need to get paid to collect trash, but they need to learn how to deal with it
@LuckyBoy-bq9zj7 ай бұрын
Maldives is responsible for taking care of its waste, at least they accumulate it in one place and far from residential areas, unlike Europe/America which exports its waste to Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
@joesmith9425 ай бұрын
That sounds nice, but it really doesn't make any sense. If the UK (example in this video) was unable to export trash to Europe, it would create the necessary landfills somewhere in its territory. That would be the end of the story; people would not "listen up". There might be a few story for a news cycle or two. Meanwhile, people would keep buying stuff at Tesco at the exact same rate.

Shred and grind it all down to a cubic millimeter size, then use AI to sift it by a process of chromatographic and mass based separation. Blow the dust about with compressed air. There are recycling systems that work this way that already exist. The facility would need to be a fully automated clean room with mechanical filtration. The filters would be a hazard material, but useful for people gathering evidence and scientific data. The filters could be mineral based and easy to recover.

A lot of profitable resources on that island. If I was a factory owner making significant profits and OfCourse, lived close by, I would probably buy the island just for the sake of getting the resources without having to pay for them. Of course, I would need a way to safely acquire those items. I don't want any employees in an unsafe work environment without proper procedures and equipment.
