Hop is back is what I'd recommend. Hopsin changed my mind on rap and showed that there was stuff out there with soul, with a message. Being a metalhead he was one of the biggest artists that got me to give rap a second chance. And I'm glad I did because while I find a lot of objectionable, there's also a core that is really passionate and meaningful. One example would be Lando Skyy's "Someday soon" which I can relate to more than most things.

I've been listening to Hopsin since waaaay back before he signed with Ruthless Records and got huge on KZbin. There are many reasons he doesn't get played on mainstream radio. He keeps it real in all of his music but a lot of people find him very controversial. He was also screwed over by Ruthless Records back in the beginning of his rap career and he touches on this in ILL Mind of Hopsin 8. He co-founded his own record label, Funk Volume, after that and has been on the Billboard charts. He's very straight-edge and claims to have never been drunk or have done recreational drugs.
