I don't know why someone would throw out perfectly functional vacuums. These didn't really need anything done to them. Makita Impact Driver amzn.to/2DZUJ7m (Affiliate Link)

I once worked as a subcontractor for. . well doesn't matter, but I was involved in planting experimental crops, one farmer used a super potent pesticide that was distributed with the seeds, as part of the process we vacuumed out the seed hoppers between strains to prevent cross contamination. The guy I was working under made me stay in the truck and not help at all due to the toxicity of the pesticide and threw away the shop vacs immediately afterwards. his words to me were "if you put one pellet in a hotdog and a dog comes along and eats that hot dog, it won't get 10 yards before falling over dead" Long story to say, sometimes shop vacs might be contaminated with something really bad, old insulation you said? asbestos is pretty old, though I don't think that's what it was. I'd just cauton people when working on stuff like that.

First video if the new system has been recorded, I need to edit it still so expect a video soon. I'll let you in on a little secret: it has grown to a KW sized system based on recent flow measurements.

Be careful with amps, the motor's rating is how many it's built to survive not how many it's capable of, you can definitely overload a motor and cause the coils to fail, potentially resulting in a fire. That said if the floor wetvac isn't doing great, it seems like it wouldn't be super hard to adapt a better impeller kit into the impeller receptical. I'd also be suspect of the exhaust situation on that one, bad exhaust flow can ruin suction and it just kind of spitting out air all over the place seems like bad exhaust flow. I'm up for more!

I touched on these subjects about amps, and the distributed exhaust is a good idea, it isn't shooting out a jet of air to disturb dust.
@Ziraya05 жыл бұрын
@@JoeMalovich it might be a good idea but it's going to result in high exhaust back pressure, which reduces displacement and increases current draw. A highly effective vacuum has a free flowing exhaust so there's no back pressure and no work is consumed pressurizing the exhaust chamber towards the result of distributing the exhaust flow, all of the work is consumed accelerating the air through to result in a high displacement

can i have pullman vac wet\dry plz i have a flooded house and it wold be good forthe job
@JoeMalovich5 жыл бұрын
You should buy one locally. A little tip so you don't need to keep emptying it of water is to put a 1/3hp utility pump inside the vacuum. Plumb it through the vacuum wall with a bulkhead fitting to a garden hose routed outside.

nice scavenging job. It is shocking what some people throw away that can be fixed easily.
