The house with the free things, I was just talking to the homeowner, a former co-worker. She's going to be putting things out on a regular basis. She doesn't want to have a yard sale.....so she's putting it curbside. Keep checking.

The small town I grew up in had a noon siren and a 5:30 siren. I remember it just kept us all on time. Back then in the 60s and 70s it was safe to play outside and roam the town from one end to the other. But when the 5:30 siren went off all the kids scattered to their homes......it was supper time and my parents expected us home soon after the siren blew. I lived in a small farming community in MN.

Uk here. We have local sirens too (reused air raid sirens from WWII). Ours are for flood warnings when the local river is going to breech. The laundry machine is a spin dryer. Takes me back, we had one in the 70’s.

We had a siren in Kissimmee that sounded at noon. It was also to warn us of storms but, moot point, the storms are so loud and awful you couldn't hear the siren.

Ohhh, your flowers will look gorgeous in that planter! You just need to leave some space to the outer side and buy few hanging ones to add. I've wondered many times, but never asked...when you say you trash pick a town do you travel each and every road, or just a specific route?

In my Ohio town, the tornado sirens are tested at noon on the first Monday of every month. Fortunately, we have one very close to our house. And we have had a few close calls. Knock on wood! Great trash picking!

In my small, 2,000 pop hometown Texas, the number of times the siren blew told the volunteer firemen what type of fire it was- 1 for grass, 2 for house, ect. It was blown constant for tornado.

I live in a dusty west Texas town and all of the surrounding towns all have VFD and they all use the tornado sirens to call firefighters to the station. They also obviously use it for tornadoes, but it’s a different pattern of siren blasts.

i think that's a spin dryer, basically does the spin part of the washing cycle when you wash by hand etc. did you ever have twin tubs over there? it's the spinner half on it's own. that spout at the bottom you would put a bowl under to catch the water.

Hi Taco. A nice video. That machine probably is not a washing machine but a centrifuge. You can use this machine to dry your clothes a little bit after washing them and before hanging them on the washing line to dry.
