The good thing about the pieces still being flexible, when you remove the from the molds, if you don't let them dry hard, in the molds, you can set then on a curved edge of where you want to glue them, and they'll dry into the curve they need to have, to fit snug on things like a cup, cloche, or any curved surfice.

Just seeing your channel, you do wonderfully creative things. One hint (because I was urging you throughout your decoupage trial!!!) Hon, decoupaging with ModPodge is 99% easier if you tear your pieces and yes, smaller is better, but when you tear the paper instead of cutting, the edges seem to "feather" into one another. Take it from an old lady who started "mod podging" back in the sixties!!! Smile.....no worries, everything was gorgeous in the long run!!

Wouldn’t a spoon help you get the mold clay out of the containers better or is there a reason why you can’t use a spoon against the clay. A brayer would help you with smooth out your clay in the mold and cut out the excess and a credit or the circuit spatula would do. Things I have witnessed other crafters use. Non skid mat would be great under the dress form to keep it from moving around so much.

Great job on all but I think your mod Podge was a bit too thick or you didn't have enough on the bottom. You need to really saturate your bottom layer so the paper will get really wet. Sometimes it even helps to wrinkle your paper up, which softens it, so it will be much easier to lay. But if the glue on the bottom isn't evenly layered, you will have air pockets. I just adore your work, love your videos, love your talent!

I love recycling!! Thank you. I was in a Flea Market Store today and they had all kinds of project items. The darn minute I walked in I started looking at stuff and my mind went blank as to what I needed to start a project. I found 3 bags of corks $2 a bag. I grabbed them up right away. I need to remember not to go crazy when I walk in a place. Any suggestions?
@FLEAMARKETRESCUE2 жыл бұрын
Hi Susan! OH...that's AWESOME you went out thrifting...it's one of my favorite things to do!!! I love recycling, too! You are so funny when you wrote..."your mind went blank"! LOL Sometimes...I have to stop and think...."Alright, what are you really going to do with this?!?!" It's easy to go crazy because you can have a flood of ideas but just think about the amount of return on an item. Is it going to require too much time to recycle? Is it more time than what the item is worth? Otherwise you can get so much stuff and be overwhelmed! Some things I need to pass up because they just aren't worth all the effort needed to make them work. That will help in deciding whether or not to purchase something. Hope that helps! XOXO

Just za thought, but you maybe could have put a wooden ball, painted, with one area sanded flat to match the dressform botto and glue it down firm,y. The other side is round to fit the curve of the top of the candlestick, so glue that into the center. It would give the inserted ball the look of being the center of a flower and the dress form growing out of it. Less work for you. Love the channel and watch you religiously!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊

I use air dry clay, is there a benefit to using the resins in the molds thanks 😇
@FLEAMARKETRESCUE2 жыл бұрын
I actually use both...but, I probably use the resin more. The reason I use resin is because it is so durable. I make all my furniture applique pieces out of it so that I don't have to worry if a piece gets knocked around that the applique piece is going to break. Also, I make finished pieces and sell them on Etsy....so, for all my finished appliqué pieces I use the resin, as well because there is less chance of them getting broken in transport. Hope that helps explain the benefit of resin...it's durable.
