If you ever need to sculpt something onto a resin piece, or resculpt a missing piece, use magic sculpt or apoxie sculpt. Just sand the area you need to attach to first. I buy broken stuff or ugly stuff for a song, and then fix it, or make it better!

Hi Kelly! I recently found your channel and have already watched so many of your videos. Especially love the thrifting ones with your mom. I wish I had a mom to go on adventures like that with!! That is so special. I also love your trash to treasure videos. I LOVE that you show that sometimes projects are more of a trial and error process and don't yield an immediate perfect result in the first try! So many creators do it that way- make it look so easy, and as a viewer sometimes I get discouraged by watching those. I also truly appreciate that you are just like me and do your projects in your kitchen! I don't have a designated craft/work room or anything like so many others that I watch. Finding your channel has given me some new motivation for my booth and my thrifting adventures in the new year!! Look forward to watching more Flea Market Rescue!!

Loved the tray. But I can’t figure out why, you didn’t just put the glue on the candle stick and spray the trays ?
@FLEAMARKETRESCUE3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nancy! It would have been easy to do it that way, but I didn't want to spray the trays with the accelerator, because I wanted to keep them food safe. It was harder that way, but I thought if I sprayed just the ends...than I wouldn't need to worry about any chemicals. Hope that clears that up. I guess I should have said why I was doing that.
@luminarygoddess86423 жыл бұрын
Spray accelerator in a cup outside creating a puddle and paint it on in a controlled manner then you use less glue causing over spill or waste, that might help
@kmoore61053 жыл бұрын
If nothing else I would have used a chalk or graphite pencil to trace the candle stick. Glued inside the drawn circle and sprayed the candlestick edge or painted it like the other commenter said.
@rhondasales51762 жыл бұрын
I also love the trays. I was thinking the same thing when you were using the glue and putting it on the tray instead of the candle stick. So, you can't spray the accelerator on the glue?

A suggestion for the tiered serving dish would have been to paint it and then use guilding wax on the details of the individual platters. It would have made it more cohesive, as there appeared to be a different sheen on the plates and candlesticks

I took advantage of the glue and accelerator! I ordered a small order, bc I wanted to try it first. It looks easy enough and with the fast acting action, much better that E6000! I loved all the projects today. Just a note the little pitcher looked much better with 3 yellow flowers in it. The “rule” in decorating is that things always look better in threes. That’s what I’ve always heard, anyway lol. I purposely bought matching plates and little shot glasses to make as the risers. The Starbond will be great to start doing these!

Hi there! I'm late to the party and just watched this video! 😆 What font did you use for the toolbox/planter that says “let's play in the dirt.”? I just love it! It reminds me of the font that Rae Dunn uses. 🙂 Super cute makeovers! 🫶🏻 I just have to say this- ignore the negative comments. I think you're doing terrific! You're never going to make everyone happy. So, you do what YOU choose to on YOUR channel. And as for the people who don't appreciate what you do, how you do it, or even how you speak; they can just quit watching and go get their own channel. That way they can have people leave contentious opinions and NITPICK over everything that they do. You're obviously doing something right to have a flourishing channel and business. Sadly, too many people think they have to make themselves feel better by dragging others down. Don’t let their negativity impact what YOU desire to do on here. You’re fantastic! 🤍🙌🏻 🕯 Blowing out other people's candles doesn't make yours burn any brighter 🕯️

(They angle should be cut inward like this: / 4 1/2" \ They are going to be your crossbars and on these remember to have your 1/2" side of the stick upright when you are cutting them.) Here is a link to the video, as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYewaWZnqcqSf6c Hope that helps! Thanks Again, Shelly for watching and for taking the time to comment! It really means a lot to me! XOXO

@@FLEAMARKETRESCUE Hi Kelly, thank you so very much for sending the info I had asked about. No, I didn’t see it before. Don’t know why either but I’m very grateful that this time I saw it. I’m so excited, now I can get busy making a couple of those plant stools… they were so darn cute. To bad we don’t live closer cuz I think between our two heads we could come up with some real winners DIY’s. Really look forward to your videos. ♥️😊👍👍

What type of paper should I have the wrap around labels printed on?
@FLEAMARKETRESCUE3 жыл бұрын
Letty, I would just use regular paper for that. It will go around the bottle much easier. I had mine printed at Office Depot on regular paper. Hope that helps.

Love all the projects! I noticed you didn’t seal the glass bottle? Do I need to do that for the chalk paint to stay on? Thanks for sharing!
@FLEAMARKETRESCUE3 жыл бұрын
Hi J & E Homestead! No...I didn't seal it, because that Annie Sloan chalk paint is definitely on there good and I did use some dark wax. If it was a piece of furniture that people would be putting things on, then I would have sealed it just for added protection, but for this...I didn't think it was necessary. If you wanted to, you could always put some clear wax on it just for assurance, though. Hope that answers your question! XOXO

Could you list the glue name & spray accelerant
@FLEAMARKETRESCUE2 жыл бұрын
Hi Patti! It's called Starbond. It's a two part glue. You put the glue on one side and on the other you spray the accelerant. When the two pieces meet they bond instantly. Here's a link for it that will allow you to get a discount on it: bit.ly/2TFXswz

Where do you store all the stuff you buy before you work on it?
@FLEAMARKETRESCUE2 жыл бұрын
Well, my Mom and I had a storage unit that we together. We recently moved out of it and sold most all of our stuff! I try to work on the projects and put them in my booth right away so they aren't cluttering up my house, until I can figure out what I want to do next! Hope that helps answer that for you but yea...a storage unit really is ideal if you're doing a lot of projects and vintage markets!

Why would you paint over price tags? 🤷🏻♀️
@FLEAMARKETRESCUE3 жыл бұрын
You know, Laurie....I didn't even realize I had done that, until I read your comment! I had to watch back the video just to see if I had really done that, but I guess I did. I was soooo tired...it was like my 8th project....it was late and I must have been on autopilot! I always leave the tags on, so that I can show everyone what I paid on video, but I obviously had forgotten to remove that one. I'm human...what can I say. Yes, Laurie....I would recommend removing all the tags before you paint your project! LOL Yikes!
@susantwitchell1632 жыл бұрын
I enjoy watching fleamarket rescue! You do such cute things! I do have a question though...I noticed that on much of what you showed today that after you painted items with chalk paint, that you didnt seal them with wax. Do you find that not waxing deminishes the longevity of your products for your customers? Or do you give instructions for care and cleanup with your products? Specifically, the canisters would be a concern with no wax protection. Can you please explain? Is it just not needed?
@FLEAMARKETRESCUE2 жыл бұрын
AwHHh, thank you so much for the wonderful compliments! Now, everything that is painted white is painted in a latex paint that you'd paint on your walls, it's a paint and primer in one, so no protection is needed. It's like painting your walls...you wouldn't put a wax or polyurethane on your walls after painting them, however, anything that you chalk paint probably should have a coat of wax or again a polyurethane on it. Also, anything I spray paint does not get wax or polyurethane because it's impossible to get spray paint off unless you take a razor blade and scrape it off! Now, with the canister project....I believe I did put wax on it because I chalk painted grain stripe. I probably should have mentioned that in the video, however, if I didn't.....yes...anything you chalk paint, you want to put either a wax or polyurethane on it. Hope that clears that up.
