I just love the fence finials as legs idea. I'm trying to figure out a DIY for an ottoman/backless stool that would work stylistically with my vanity, a converted writing desk. I cannot find anything to buy that doesn't look like my mother's mid-century modern, which, in my opinion, is uncomfortable and not for me. A fabric slipcover or cushion that wouldn't catch on clothing would be ideal.

Girl, you worked your butt off on this all by yourself. It is beautiful. Next one make the top foam and make a huge cushion ottoman, no feet and throw it by the pool. I have 2 tires from stepson and haven’t touched them yet. I told him I want his help too. You are amazing and I’m definitely hanging around to see what’s next by his is hard act to follow. Watching you work, made me realize I’m not a spring chicken at all.

I have a bit of a story about my tires. My husband bought a project Corvette. He passed away before he did much work on it. I had a professional do the restoration on the car including new tires. The old tires were not in great shape so this would make a great memory for my children and myself. Will take a bit of work but I can see it is do able for me. Your tire was a biggie!!! Nice job

Indeed, I grew up around the tire recapping business. My step dad did this most of my growing up, and really was helping out the environment by reselling the better tires to having them re-capped. Tho it wasn't looked at as "Helping the environment" back then!! Never really thought of them as something I could make into something this cute! Thanks again for sharing this idea!!! =)

Yes I would love to see an ottoman in maybe French country or for a soft pretty living room. I love this and it will look great for farmhouse and poolside. It looks like a million bucks. One question is will the hot glue and liquid nails hold up outside? I have made quite a few diys with the nautical rope with just gorilla hot glue.I don’t have enough space inside to store the items when not in use and find that the heat outside seems to break the bond of the hot glue. I hoping you say the liquid nails is the key to solve this problem. Thank you so much for your diys. You really are making nice big ticket items affordable and they don’t look like diys at all.
