My favorite blackbeard moment was grappling a grunt then getting hit by an anti orbital canon. not even structured. Imagine that poor enemy pilot you've been grabbed by a mech who proceeded to stare at you for 3 rounds absorbing 3 hits from an anti orbital canon without even reacting.

I encourage you to reread what Technophile III does. It will convince NHPs that you are SIGNIFICANT, with no guarantee that that's positive. To a Sekmet, it might consider you a significant THREAT.

Technophile 3 does not say "friendly" is just says that NHPs will regard you as significant. It's up to the game master as to whether SEKMET will thus beeline at you if it knows of you or if it will avoid you in the slaughter.

NHP on ghenghis isn't your friend but even if it cascades it may just try to off itself so you don't have to worry too much.

Story time: In my first ever game of Lancer, I chose the Blackbeard as my first mech and aptly named it, ‘The Toucher’. There were others, like one with their Goblin, another with their Kidd, and the last one with a Pegasus. This meant that I was the only one specialized in getting up close and personal to my targets. So, during the course of a session where we were attacking an abandoned mining space station now taken over by pirates called, ‘The Skull Patrol’ we were Lancers apart of MSMC, and were the ace mercenaries for the job. So after negotiations went sour after trying to get back a rich son who we were suppose to rescue and secure back to IPS-N, we ran into a few pirate mechs. It was here where I experienced the glory, that is the Blackbeard. . . For as my Allie’s deployed their drones, copy the enemy’s guns, and hack them still. . . I eventually made it to a metal doorway that was open and insole a pirate mech there with my grappling hook. Now to explain, that pirate mech had a squad of pirates behind it, that had an absurd amount of health. . . But it didn’t matter. After grappling that pirate mech, my Blackbeard, ‘The Toucher’ brought out its nano carbon sword that while seemingly basic. . . *Cleaver the goddamn mech in half.* Causing the squad of pirates to attempt to run, but it was too late. . . For they were within range of that basic sword and from that very moment they noticed the tip of a blade, jutting out from their sternums. . . Before falling apart, being dismembered in half. It was at this moment, I knew. . . *I love the Blackbeard.*

here's a fun fact, if you dump everything into agility and systems and get to LL6 with tier 3 blackbeard and nelson, and tier 2 Ace talent; you can put jump jets, ramjets, and reinforced cables on the blackbeard, with maximum agility giving you 8 speed. With this combo you can move 40 spaces in one turn and all of that movement is flying so you cn just completely clear a battle field. Granted you take 9 heat but still really cool.

@@TheWickedSir spend 3 license levels total on ips-n and get the bonus that increases your size so smaller characters can't grapple on their own. Or, ya know, keep your distance from anything that looks like it likes melee more than it's guns.
