Harley Davidson never fails to piss me off. So many of their parts are made from plastic. We are constantly upgrading parts and that SUCKS. But That's why we own these machines. No other bike on the planet is more customizable than HD.

Very true about the customalily of Harleys. Goldwings all look alike. Harley's can be the same model but they all end up being SO different from each other.

Hi does the glass on the trask get any oil marks after install? Mine gets oil residue in glass even with the vented trans cover after 100 miles of riding. I clean it but still doing the same thing ? Thank you

I wouldn't Red Loctite on the breather bolts, you should put a filter or use a catch can on the breather line. DK Customs has a billet one. Don't overfill the oil tank, that's one of the reasons for blowby. I've used DK Customs set up for 2 years and not putting a full 4 quarts of oil in the tank. Catch can only have a few drops of oil.

Ok two things. Why shouldn’t not use red loctite on the breather bolt when it’s recommended by the manufacturer? And what other filter are you referring to other than the filter I installed that came with the external breather?

@@ridefitnation Red Lactate is more permanent and a real Bitch to loosen. The other filter I was talking about is for the breather tube. Use a little throw away filter or a catch can. The breather tube should terminate toward the rear of the bike, not the middle. Should have a big blow-by problem you'll soak the rear wheel with oil.. Loctite threadlocker blue is designed to easily be replaceable with common tools, whereas red is a more permanent fix. If you have trouble keeping it straight, here's a helpful rhyme to jog your memory: “Blue, easy to make new. Red, full strength ahead!”
