Hey Guys,
Welcome to another Sound & Review for the Indian Scout and Scout Bobber! This week we got the little cannons from Trask Performance. I’ve been eyeing these slip-ons since I got my Scout back in the fall and couldn’t wait to get them in the shop and installed on the bike.
Well, this week was the week. Great anticipation is often met with disappointment, but fortunately not always. I liked these pipes when I first saw them in pictures, I liked them more when I unboxed them, and I became a certified fanboy after I started up the bike with them on first the first time.
These pipes are exactly what I like in a slip-on muffler for a Bobber. With what’s currently available for the Scout, you have no trouble finding long slash-cuts or 3” and 3.5” straight-cut cans go as far back as the end of your rear rotor. but if you want to go short, there aren't really a ton of options yet. Fortunately Trask is one of the few companies who seem to get why this is cool. These slip-ons don’t steal more real estate than they have to from the eye’s, but when you look close you will be impressed with the quality of the ceramic coating or chrome finish. They’re American made, stainless steel, and as tough as they look, the finish is excellent on the tapered end caps as well.
The look is awesome, but these pipes really make their gravy when you fire it up. These pipes are straight from hell, folks. I couldn’t help but smile each time I hit the starter with these slip-ons ons. When out and about you can guarantee a second look from pedestrians trying to find where that evil sound is coming from, and when in traffic these slip-ons will be a reliable warning shot to negligent drivers and in situations where your presence is needed to be known, they will not let you down. If you’re anything like me these slip-ons are worthy of consideration when selecting the right pipe slip on muffler.
