I'm always happy when Pete enjoys a meal. As much as I appreciate when he calls out subpar service, it's a joy to find exceptional food and people who do their job well!

Yes but well-made Caesar salad does not have an overpowering taste of anchovy, and poorly made Caesar salad does… Sounds like, from what Haley is describing, that this was a poorly balanced sauce

Dined here 2 yrs ago. After that I swore never to return. Waited too long for every course. Even to get a drink. When my entree arrived it looked as if the floor from the kitchen was built on a Florida sink hole. It was smeared across the plate and cold. To send it back would have caused me to be late for golf the next morning. So glad to see this positive review. Thank you Pete and staff. Here in Orlando until Saturday am. I will try to get in tomorrow or Fri if possible. Thanks again.

Since Flying Fish is our top suggestion to EVERYONE for the best food at WDW I'm thrilled the chef is applying his considerable skills to this place, too. We've been there for breakfasts a few times because we prefer Boardwalk as our go-to hotel on property (because it is great in and of itself and because we're EPCOT people--the bonus of watching the fireworks from your room when you're too tired to go back to the park is NOT to be ignored when asking for a room location.) We go all the way back when celeb chef Kat Cora opened this place for breakfasts and you're right, other meals have been fair-to-middling at best. SUPERB that they're improved and I'll bet the chef's proximity and basic overseeing of both kitchens will continue. Thanks!

We "found" this place last time we were there. It immediately became our favorite restaurant at Boardwalk. EVERYTHING we ate was phenomenal. We talked to one of the head chefs and he was amazing, too. We have like 3 or 4 ADRs for there for our next trip because we like it so much. That garlic bread they bring you? Stop. I could bathe in the dish. Make sure you get the gnocchi for dinner. The breakfast was stupid amazing, too. The breakfast pizza is a standout. One of the best breakfast entrees on property. Period.

He was, and honestly that does not sit well with me. It’s very out of touch for most of the world. If the steak wasn’t good that’s a valid complaint, but saying that $39 makes it cheap and complaining you got what you paid for was cringy.

Just got back from Disney we ate breakfast at Trattoria on Aug 1st it was very good. We then went for dinner on June 2nd. I had Chicken Parmesan and my kids had pizza. It was the best Chicken Parm ever. This place was amazing.

This was the one restaurant I frequented the most at Disney, especially for breakfast when Rapunzel was there. Jess was my favorite server. I hope she's still there.

Selfish stuff first, thanks Pete, for making it more difficult for us to get reservations at our fav WDW restaurant 😵 I thoroughly enjoyed your review, the food looked wonderful! We usually get the zeppoli for dessert and bring it back to the room to enjoy, but that gelato looked delicious. We always liked the food, last time we were there was Dec 2019, before the world exploded. Looking forward to our next visit in March 2022, I’ll be sure to make my reservations as soon as I’m able, since now that Pete loves it, I’m sure it will be “the” place to be.

I've always liked Trattoria a lot for breakfast the 5 or 6 times we've gone. The one time we went for dinner it was mediocre especially when compared to restaurants available in the area. But based on this review I'll be making a dinner ADR for later this month.

We were there in May as a settlement because of nothing else around having space or whatever at the time.. and we were also BLOWN away (I expected Olive Garden food). The Garlic Bread is amazing and a must. We had Lasagna, Pizza and Chicken Parm and all were excellent.

Staying at Yatch Club this week. Went to Trattoria twice!. The Shrimp Parpardelle is one of the best pasta dishes we have ever had. The Tiramisu French Toast from the breakfast menu was pretty darn good as well.

Went there with my parents in July 2018 and we hated it. May 2021 I went back with my sister we figured we were staying at boardwalk let’s give it a try I said maybe we had an off night. It was phenomenal!!!! So I agree run!

I think Drake and Pete are both right in regards to the kitchen. The staff didn't have the right resource and that resource was the Executive Chef. He brought in the experience , skills and ingredients that allows the kitchen staff to shine.

My wife and I took you advice and visited for dinner 9/16, though Flying Fish would have been our first choice had it reopened. Having come out of the rain, we appreciated the warm greeting by a host at the door and then by the hostess at the check-in desk. Although a few minutes early, our table was immediately ready. As we would come to regret, we did not request Fabiana as our server. In fact, I believe it was the very “Karen” you feared who was assigned to us. Barely seated, she immediately pressed for a drink order and asked if we had questions about the menu, apparently available only by QR code or MDX (at our dinners the previous 4 nights, which included The Boathouse, California Grill, Citricos, and Topolino’s Terrace, paper menus were provided without asking). Though we requested a few moments to look things over, our server returned almost immediately, and even though my wife had left the table to use the restroom, she clearly wanted our order. Now I could have, and should have, politely suggested we were in no hurry and could we just slow things down a bit, but I felt she really should have sensed this. Anyway, we did order two glasses of wine, delivered in individual cruets that were placed on the table but not poured into our glasses, then or throughout the meal. Nor was water ever refilled. Regarding the food, your reviews were spot on. The caprese, calamari and the osso buco were all fantastic. My wife had high hopes that she’d get a better cut of beef than Drake, however her experience was exactly the same (well prepared, but bad cut) and she wished she had ordered the chicken parmesan as Haley had recommended. Back when osso buco was on the menu at Citicos, it was always served with a small fork to access the bone marrow. When a manager stopped by our table and asked if he could get us anything, I requested just that. He did go and check, but said he couldn’t find any. Not a big deal, but above-and-beyond service, like your Coke Zero story, used to be the rule and not the exception (as an example, a server at Citricos once went to find me a slice of pie when nothing resembling pie was currently on the menu, and only because he asked the open-ended question, “what do you feel like having for dessert” and not because I was demanding it). So, the bottom line for us was that the rushed, inattentive, somewhat unprofessional service significantly detracted from an otherwise very good (should have listened re the steak so our bad there) meal. We certainly understand the pressure on staffing, and there may not be enough available ‘A’ team cast members to hire back, but with the exception of this server (name withheld because everyone is entitled to chalking it up to just having a bad day), all other cast interactions throughout our week at WDW were unequivocally positive and in fact reflected a sense of gratitude for the return to a sense of normalcy.

I love seeing the DIS people happy! Drake is a great addition to the dining reviews for me - just hold the little microphone closer to the talking person. Also I am RIGHT THERE with you on the fat and gristle stuff. I do not like that in a steak ever! Next time, send it back and see if they can find a better quality. Fiasco and Haley - you know I always enjoy seeing you both in a dining review. That is a crazy looking salad and I am NOT into kale or anchovies. It is also a classy restaurant if Fiasco loses the hat. :-) Guessing there was not a plant based or non-dairy dessert? I find that an issue because everyone should be able to order a full meal. Great job all!
