Tonight, I ate at Trattoria da Vittorio. The soup, bruschetta, and gnocchi were fantastic. Great service. I appreciate the recommendation.

Having lived here for many years, I should be used to it by now - but "quite good" sounds dismissive to my English ears. The southern woman used the phrase quite (!) often, and each time I had to remind myself that she didn't mean "it was just OK" but was actually being complimentary.
