@@YvieT81 I promise you... not all of us (Americans) are so ignorant. I have never been outside of the United States... very rarely outside of my home state, to be honest (don't judge! lol). Even so, I read a TON and love wasching travel documentaries... and I am embarrassed on behalf of anyone who has ever said out loud that Holland is the capital of Amsterdam. I knew all the countries in the world and their capitals by the time I was 14. I don't remember a lot of it now, however, for the AUSSIE who commented about Sydney, I do remember that the capital of Australia is Canberra. 😉

It may be spelled "BURGH", but it's actually pronounced like "Borough", with a soft G. It's one of those words that you don't think about until you hear someone who isn't a native say it.

My sister lived in Glasgow for a year so I luckily got a crash course on how to pronounce Edinburgh (and Glasgow) from her. Maria's first language isn't English so she 100% has a pass on mispronouncing place names. I'm sure we'd all say most of the names of places in Russia wrong too. Also if you want to talk about "no one who who doesn't live here can pronounce it", may I introduce you to the cities, towns, and rivers of Washington state, USA. Even the stuff that looks like it would be easy to pronounce gets butchered.

You are a gift in this world. I just want you to know that. You’ve been apart of my life since 2015, every day. I hope to meet you one day, even if it’s in the great beyond. You’re a true blessing.

Welcome to the UK! Allow me to be your tour guide whilst you are here! Roast dinners, fish and chips and afternoon tea await you! Silliness aside, this was a fabulous video Masha! It reminded me of your video "My trip to Italy" which is on my favourites playlist and played on repeat weekly :D

I'm a UK resident, and now I want to visit even more... lol I can't help dreaming of a group of you guys doing a collaborative series of videos. One of you could do the travel agency, one the flight attendant, another check in concierge, another could work the spa and another could be the holiday rep. It would be so amazing.

Glad to see someone take a helpful approach to this pronunciation mistake - have seen a few people being patronising and treating her like she's ignorant or stupid. Just calling her out on it but not actually helping her out. English has so many pronunciation contradictions so we should always try to be patient with people!

22:13 (with closed-captions on) "One of the first places we're going to visit, *_EVIL_* Tower." 😂 Sorry, Maria, but I'm going to have to side with KZbin's automatic captions here. It really does sound like you're saying "EVIL" tower, which actually makes me want to visit it even more. 😂 Intriguing!! Love the soft-spoken tourism show & tell here. Very relaxing.
