Love your tips and can’t wait for my vacation. Somethings I do for traveling- packing neatly and using packing cubes has been great as I go to my destination. Coming home, I use one or two of my packing cubes for dirty clothes and consolidate any clean clothes in the remaining cubes. I fold the dirty clothes the same way I would clean clothes so that all of my stuff easily fits again for the return home trip and maybe still have some extra room if I’ve purchased something. My other tip is to use some plastic containers to store my cosmetics in, that are already in ziploc bags. We like places with mini kitchenettes and sometimes these kitchenettes don’t have enough storage containers for left over food that we’ve either cooked are brought leftovers back from a restaurant so I use my plastic containers for food. Kitchenette refrigerators can be small. Added bonus you are double sealing anything that is liquid in your suitcase. Thanks again for sharing all your great tips!

I’m looking for a new rolling carry-on and confused about dimensions. The bag in your link (super lightweight!) shows overall dimensions larger than the allowable 22 x 14 x 10. Should I be looking at case dimensions or overall dimensions (which includes wheels and handle)? P. S. I take a dollar store frisbee to put on my nightstand for my phone, jewelry, flashlight, room keycard, etc. It’s light and takes no space in my bag
@SnowySpiritRuby3 жыл бұрын
Airline restriction measurements refer to overall dimensions, so the Travelpro Maxlite 4 & 5 22-inch are in fact bigger than the 22x14x9 that many airlines technically allow, while the 19-inch Maxlite 4 and 20-inch Maxlite 5 are not. Would be interested to hear from Laurie how hers fits in the overhead bin, since sometimes even if something is slightly bigger than "allowed", it will still fit okay, but other times it won't.

Love your tips Laurie! For your Apple Watch, pre COVID when I traveled within the US I would ask TSA every time if I had to take my watch off and they would say no. Not sure if anything has changed or if this changes when arriving at another country.
@SnowySpiritRuby3 жыл бұрын
I didn't have to take my watch off for security when flying domestically back in August/September. Not sure whether anything has changed like that since then (I very highly doubt it - it wasn't before, and the situation is better now than it was then, so probably not), or whether other countries have rules that say otherwise - it would show up on the AIT scan screen as something on the wrist, and I know that it won't alarm the metal detector unless it has a lot of metal in/on it (at least that's my guess, since mine doesn't alarm it and it's a smaller digital Timex Expedition, so it has some metal but not a lot); my glasses (all-metal frames) don't alarm the AIT or metal detector. In the past, I never ran into a time where I had to take my watch off when entering another country, and I've done that 5 times in the last 6 years (all prior to last year).

@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I haven't personally, but the rest of my family has, and my grandpa and one of my uncles both owned one (not sure whether my uncle still does, or what happened to my grandpa's balloon). Ballooning was really big in my dad's family, big enough that one of my dad's brothers and some of his classmates built a completely functional full size one in high school as a science fair project (I'm told that the judges ended up disqualifying them because they refused to believe that teenagers could actually do it themselves - if they had known what my grandpa did for a living, they would have known my uncle and his friends were more than capable of it), and both my grandpa and uncle piloted it in various events later on. The only time there was even a remote possibility of me being able to go up in one (my grandpa's), I was only 2 or 3, and my parents wouldn't let me, while my older sister got to go up with my grandpa on the tether, and he gave my mom and actual ride. That was the only time I was ever up close in person to a balloon, so I'm really excited for the festival.

(Using husband’s link) I took two hand towels and sewed them on three sides so that I could slip it onto the airplane tray table. It created a nonslip surface and would pick up any spills. Another solution for enjoying tea on the go is having a tea infuser bottle. Preferably the one with a small glass cup ontop and a 6-14 oz cup to pour hot water in if one is not fond of tea bags.

Hi Laurie, I've tried the link you've provided to those grey zippered waterproof shoes in a couple of your videos, and they are not available (I realize this is an older video). Would you by any chance still have info about the model number? They are Ecco, aren't they? I want to contact the manufacturers and find out if they are still made. Thanks!

Have you ever flown sun county??? We are traveling at the end of July and Book the flight with Suncountry however the issue is that you can only have one personal item and it gives you very specific measurements of that personal item because it Hass to fit under your seat otherwise you have to pay an additional $30 each way per person to have a carry-on but yet it’s the same price to just check a bag so we are actually just going to check two bags because it’s me and my four children and then they have a weight limit of 50 pounds so my question is do you have any tips for how to maybe pack a checked bag to try to keep it under 50 pounds and have you ever flown that airline and what do you think of them if you have
@TravelTipsbyLaurie3 жыл бұрын
I have never flown them. Some school type backpacks are huge! I would visit Walmart and get the one with 2 large pockets and then smaller ones on the front. If checking for sure, just pack fewer bottom pieces. Pack 2 bottoms and 4 tops per kid. Pack Tide sink packets (some off brands are also in the detergent aisle if can't get amazon delivered on time) to wash 3-5 kid shirts in sink. Only one pair of shoes in suitcase and wear the other one. Can you buy cheap flip flops once you land? Have so much fun!

Before I started using a lanyard for my masks, I used those magnetic cord holders. Since they come in pretty colors, I placed it on my shirt. When I did not use the mask and I did not want to shove them in my purse, I “clipped” the strings and my mask was safe. Does that make sense?

Another great vlog! I'm practicing with my new Bogg bag at Edisto Beach & finally found shampoo bars at TJMax~ My carry on has gotten lighter, BUTT I'm heavier...time to walk it off and so thankful they don't weigh us at TSA. Susteau makes a powder shampoo and powder conditioner - just a tiny bit lathers up well- and I use them as my regular at-home hair care. Haven't travelled in awhile but it would be quite the space saver.

Buying the pack for trip to AZ this month. Taking my lil fur baby so I was looking for something to accommodate my travel stuff since Lulu counts as a carryon. I think it’ll work great for me. Luckily I’m staying with my sis so I can use a lot of her stuff 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Also picked up a few more of your recommendations 💕

I was wondering if you could do a video on all of the recommendations you found helpful in the comment section. I don’t always have the time to go back and read all of the suggestions given by viewers but I would love to hear the top 20 best recommendations given by your subscribers.
@TravelTipsbyLaurie3 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea! So the best recommendations for what things?
@trishanolan49903 жыл бұрын
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie honestly, it could be a video on the best top 20 recommendations from viewers you have received while doing your channel. Another idea is maybe group the suggestion in regards to a trip, ie, best recommendations for a family trip (such as best restaurants, packing, snacks, hotels, etc). Another option is the best recommendations for a girls only trip (best place to stay, spas, outdoor activities, luggage, gifts to give friends going on the trip). It could almost be a series on your channel due to all of the recommendations you get from viewers...so many ways to use the recommendations. I would love to see a series on viewer recommendations but these are only my thoughts and hopes on what to see...😉😁

I had some of those soap sheets when I was a kid (60 years ago). Everything old is new again! LOL. Although the skort is cute, I always wear pants on the plane. If there’s ever (heaven forbid) a fire, pants will help protect your legs.

Love all your videos! Just flew spirit last week and they do not give you an antibacterial wipe. They have some if you ask I believe. (Budget, I know haha) Also! Just found a hard sided suitcase that fits perfectly for the free personal item for spirit, frontier and jet blue! It’s from target and it’s called the American Tourister Hardside Underseat Carry On Suitcase. I can’t wait to use it! I needed a backpack on my last flight. Just me and my 4 year old so I needed two hands 🙂
