Howdy there Chris, Just wondering if you can make a video on how you started out and how you've grown to be an inspirational photographer. Iv'e been working for almost a year at place that won't benefit me to be a travel photographer. Sometimes I feel like quieting my job and heading out, even though i have not enough money. I want to know how you made it? Because I'm here sitting down asking for help.

Hey Chris, I wanted to say that you've really been a role model for me to get into photography and make it my future career and I just wanted to say that because of you i've decided to fly to Iceland in November over my birthday and then to the north of Norway after on photography trip to try and build up my Instagram/portfolio and go on a adventure. Any tips on where I should go in Iceland? I've been to Norway a few times so that isn't a problem but looking at your photography/videos I was speechless as to how beautiful it looked and I was curious as to where those places were.

Thanks Chris! I love getting out and about to shoot and hope to do plenty of hiking/camping over the Aussie supper so this is super helpful. What kind of tent do you go for during your trips (California weather)?
@ChrisburkardStudio9 жыл бұрын
James Duguid I usually use a Nemo Equipment Ultralight Backpacking tent! Super light and easy to set up.

check out the MSR Hubba tent. Its a nice 1 person tent with plenty of room and its freestanding. You can even purchase attachments for it and overall its a reliable company that always pulls through. It packs down quite small too so there's more room for other gear

Hi Chris, I'd love to see more videos like this. You're an inspiration! You're workstation is a macbook air, right? I'm planning to get a macbook soon as my primary workstation for travel photography and film. The macbook air is lighter and more travel friendly, but I'm just wondering if it's also powerful enough for video editing. Since I shoot travel photos and videos, would you recommend the macbook air or the macbook pro? I never owned an apple laptop before so an advice from a professional and experienced travel photographer would be a great help. Thank you, and more great adventures to come!
@ChrisburkardStudio9 жыл бұрын
Tyrone Daroca I just use the air for on the road edits. I use an iMac at my studio!

I know this thread is ancient, but Sonys camera technology is years ahead of anything nikon or canon. the price range and features sony a7 line has is ridiculous... canon and nikon don't offer half the features sony has integrated already into the camera! Small, lightweight, not expensive, the future is sony.
@rsstnnr768 жыл бұрын
+Ryan Cline what features are you referring to that are so far ahead of Canon and Nikon?

Chris Burkard Studio, what lenses do you think the sony a57 needs as good starter? I would like your valuable opinions to plan ahead to improve my lenses for such adventure photography.
@ChrisburkardStudio8 жыл бұрын
+M.Hamza Arslan A good lens to start with would be preferably a zoom ranging anywhere from 18mm up would be great. The benefit of a zoom is you'll get practice taking both wide and portrait photos!
