Before Covid (and I think still), Nick Zentner had a "filler" series on the Seattle PBS Station KBCS called Nick on the Rocks. It's target is the wider PNW audience that doesn't have a geological background. It is available on KBCS's website. I grew up in the Columbia Basin and both went to school and later worked at CWU. This geology is in my bones.

It’s been a while since we’ve had cell coverage to comment on a video but we’ve been with you each week and it has kept our longing to spend time with you alive and well. Today’s video pushed that over the top. Makes you marvel at how connected to friends you can become without spending “real” time with them. As we’re watching Lynn said several times.. “she’s so cute”. I know… at our age it’s hard to be “cute” but you both are. Seeing John’s leg made us both cringe out loud… so sorry… both for the accident and pain and for the lost time doing what you love. We want you both to know that as our desire to travel long distances has started to diminish it’s not the national parks or great sites that make us want to point our van west… it’s the two of you. Not sure when that’s going to happen but hopefully soon. Much love from your NC family. BTW, Lynn wants to know about your hat with the ponytail hole. :-)

I've had the same induction cooktop and pan for several years. The pan has been the worst non-stick pan I've used. I found that olive oil cooking spray has worked the best as long as the pan is kept sparkling clean. My go to thermometer is a Thermapen by Thermoworks. Mine is decades old and still gives 3-4 second accurate readings. I see they are down to 1 second on the new ones. Quality equipment. Also you can use your hammer to help you on both the way up and the way down. Its best to have that pointy bit buried in the scree, if you tumble all you do is let go, no worries about getting punctured.

@@FromShetoMe Toss the pick ahead of you and bury it in the scree, surprising how much you can then pull on it to help you up. Put the pick behind you, handle coming in under one arm, that same arm holding the handle. If you need to slow down lean back, weight on the pick. If you can slide do so on the pick and both heels. Try and lift your butt up a bit, no fun slamming that into a larger rock. I realize you have a rock hammer not a climbing pick but should still work, just not as good.

We have been to Ginko Petroglyph SP twice and it has been almost too Hot to hike. Love Ginkos, but was disappointed with the caged display of the petrified wood and how few Ginkos there actually are. So I’m wondering if you have any videos that describe what electronics, cameras, iPads/computers, microphones you use to shoot your videos? We are not going to be posting on KZbin but my wife loves to build videos that document our adventures. Also how do you store/secure your gear when you are away from your van?

Gee, you were only about 2-3 hrs away! 🙄 maybe next time you'll drop by for a campfire in the backyard? Plenty of room to park here too.

What was that going by on the track? It looked like airplanes without wings.

Exactly! Must have been en route to Boeing in Seattle. We sometimes see the strangest things on the road. I wish I had bookmarked all the videos I have taken of things being transported.
