What a great collection of travel journals. I really like how you incorporated photos as well as ephemera. I wouldn’t worry about being behind… I’m still working on documenting trips from 14 years ago! Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you for commenting 🙂 It's good to know there are others like me who are still catching up on previous trips! I actually abandoned all plans for travel journals for trips before 2018, but if I ever, somehow, find myself up to date, I plan on tackling those too. I love taking pictures, and collecting random things, so everything needs to go into my trip journals!

Hi Nadiah I love your travel journals they are so beautiful and interesting with all your pockets, flip ups, downs and outs and how you have used the rubber stamps, so beautiful. I also love your photography and I think I am learning from it, how your perspective includes a larger part of the floor when taking a front view and your side shots include long aspects of the buildings or walls etc. It gives your photos so much dimension. You have inspired me to put together a travel journal of my recent trip to Italy. Don't ask how much I've spent on rubber stamps!!!!! Thank you so much for your videos.

Thank you so much for watching my video and leaving such a great comment! I am truly happy that you got to learn something from my video, journals and even photos! I do love taking pictures of details which is why my travel journals are always so fat 😅 Oh yes, do journal your trip! It's such a great way to remember it. But don't stress yourself out too much as well, and just have fun with it!

Beautiful journals! I’m heading to Paris next year and want to take a journal with me. I have lots of inspiration from watching this video. Did you print any pictures on your trips or did you do it after you got back?

@nadiahkimie Жыл бұрын
You’re most welcome! I’m glad you got to relax a little watching it 😄 I actually send my photos to print at photobook.com as I haven’t found a small photo printer that prints on matte paper just yet, and I can’t afford to splurge on one of those super high quality photo printers, be it cash or space-wise!

Hi Nadiah, I looooove your style and your aesthetics in travel journals. Like someone had already stated before, I've laso spent a lot on rubber and silicone stamps, as you inspired me how to decorate the spreads. I am a fountain pen girl, could you recommend an ink that doesn't bleed in TN regular blank inserts? Another request is, could you make a video showing how you make all those pockets? Or if you've already done it, just direct me which video I should watch. I'm now watching your travel journals flip throughs and I must repeat it, they are amazing. 😍
@nadiahkimie6 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for leaving me this lovely comment ☺️. Hmmm, the thing with TN inserts is that sometimes one ink will bleed through them and then the next time it won’t. I think there was a shoddy batch and so many of my pages had bleedthrough and I had to cover them up. It also depends on the pen - wetter and broader nibs are likely to bleed more. I know TN doesn’t love pigment inks very much though so stay away from them, but Iroshizuku, Diamine, Robert Oster, Jacques Herbin, have so far been ok. I hope that helps!

I'm very much enjoying the look through your journals. How do you get the maps to fold so perfectly inside the journals? I have some from a recent trip and can't figure out if I need to refold them or what!
@nadiahkimie Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching my flip throughs! Oh 90% of the time I have to refold the maps as most of them tend to be too big. And I try to fold them such so that the page will close as evenly as possible instead of having one part bulkier than the other.

These are beautiful! Where did you buy the journals?
@nadiahkimie Жыл бұрын
Thank you! These are Traveler’s Notebook inserts, and I got mine from all over the place, but they’re quite popular and should be available globally.

Where can I grab those translucent envelopes ?

They came with some old stamps that I bought. Am not sure where you can buy more, although you can probably make them with some vellum or tracing paper.

What printer do you use? Do you print photos during the travel or after?
@nadiahkimie2 жыл бұрын
I don't print the photos myself. I get them printed on photobook.com as they have the option of printing on fuji crystal archive matte paper, which I prefer over glossy photo paper. I only print the photos before I work on the travel journals, so a few years later typically 😁
