I don't have the money to get one of these babies, but I still watch these videos. Why? Because ever since I got the Peak Design everyday backpack 20L, I just love this company, it's design, and the care for details & for the customers they have. And I am obsessed with the design aesthetic & attention to materials & geometry from Art (the designer on the left there at the beginning of this broadcast). Go go Peak Design, go! Always remain as caring and may you always have good business.

maybe an idea to make the rain cover pouch a bit taller so it isn't so bulky. So it will fit snuggly in the magnetic pocket.

Hi PD Team, The new travel bag is really a great bag. I always try to convince myself to buy this bag, and check and check every video on youtube, hangout video, and kickstarter video, but there is just one thing to hold me back:the height. Currently I am using F-stop's Lotus 32L bag for traveling, which is 52.5cm high. It's already a big bag for me. If I want to use the travel line 45L bag as the one bag for traveling, it's OK in nature but still way too big for cities, at least for me. By the way, in addition to the F-stop Lotus, I also take my PD EDB 20L with me for city traveling. For everyday use, I use 5L sling bag, 10L sling bag, and 20L EDB combined, not to mention those clips, straps with different size, pads. I am a big fan of you guys. Based on what I know, this 45L bag can put in a large camera cube and a tech puch combined. This is what the 56cm height can fit. I want to know that, is there any possible that a slightly smaller travel line bag, which maximum fits a large camera cube and maximum capacity around 35L, comes out in the future? If it’s yes, that would be wonderful. I like all the accessories pouches and bags of the travel bag 45L. If they can fit the future smaller size bag, I can buy those pouches now with the Kickstarter price. I understand that why you guys just release only a large bag at first for a “relatively small” company, since this bag has so many accessories to work on. Hopefully I can get an answer whatsoever.

Regarding the access to the medium and large camera cubes through the sidedoors, wouldn’t it be smarter to have the camera cube doors open downwards so you could stash the door underneath the cube and not have to open both the main bag door and the camere cube door? In the next video could you please show more of the cameracubes and how they accessed through the side doors. Thank you =)

Very glad to hear you guys talk about different color combos in the end, because a mix match is exactly my plan for the Travel Bundle i backed. Can you confirm we can select different color for EACH item such as Black Backpack, Sage Wash Pouch and Black Tech Pouch? If only there was a stretch goal of a Wolf Grey or MAS Grey type color, something in between Black and Sage would be a wonderful surprise just saying!

On the Kickstarter they've confirmed that the colors of each component can be chosen individually from the colors available. Since they've already started production and logistical planning to get the product out to backers and retailers by launch dates it's too late to add new color ways/SKUs right now but if there's enough demand in the future it's not impossible (see adding Black colorway to prior product lines)

Thanks guys for keeping us so informed and updated on your products. I just had a few questions: 1. Is the black material the same as the black everyday backpack? 2. Reviews of that backpack have concluded that it picks up dust very easily. Do you see this as an ongoing issue in the travel line? 3. Will we be able to choose different colours for each specific item if we bought a reward with multiple items? Thanks for taking the time to answer.
@peakdesignvideo

Yes, is the same black as the backpack. Some minor changes have been made to the fabric since initial production so shows less dirt, but will still show more than a varigated color like sage yes, you can choose all of your colors in the survey when the campaign is over. Note that packing and camera cubes only come in 1 color

You mentioned that hydration bladders do fail, well if you bought a real bladder like Source or Camelbak military line bladders they do never fail. Unless you drive over them with truck but then you might have other problems with your camera gear also. And no their military line is not that special you might think, actually those are just a bit more expensive than a normal sport line but they will last you forever, highly recommend those. Also I do not recommend to put 3 liters bladder on either side of the bag because that will put it in very unbalanced state even tho you would run two bladders on either side you will drink only from one at the time. So having a bladder center and closest to your back is very important if you're going to have a lot of weight on the bag itself. Also if its not impossible could you add a little hook in the top of the bag (inside, like against the back panel) it would help us to hang our bladders and keep them close the zippers like its done in back bags that are designed to be carried with bladder. Otherwise you might run into problem that your bladder drinking tube is too short and it can't reach the shoulder straps from the bottom of the bag. Thank you. Also is the laptop sleeve sized so it will fit normal size 17" also without it expanding from the sides? Just thinking is my 15" laptop moving around there, its pretty slippery from both sides so it probably do if the laptop compartment is made for 17". And is these bags you have in the video made already in the same manufacturer that will do the mass production then. I am always very very suspicious about products that are made in elsewhere than USA, Canada, Finland, Sweden, Germany etc...
@zeistriden
@zeistriden 6 жыл бұрын
Going by the size of the laptop/tablet sleeve on the preproduction units they had available at the flagship store in SF, a 15" MacBook Pro is pretty snug inside - no moving around at all. Definitely not sized for a 17". Regarding hydration bladder mounting, this product line is designed more as a traveler's bag than a hiker's bag so designing the hardware to accommodate hydration bladders isn't a high priority. This is essentially wearable luggage with the adaptability of becoming a camera backpack once your travel kit is unloaded at your destination. It can't be everything for everyone. That being said, it wouldn't be difficult to rig a hang line with some paracord from the toggles at the top of the bag (used to lock the side access panels) to keep a hydration bladder up top - but I don't think the laptop sleeve is large enough to hold a bladder as large as 3L. ThinkTank Photo/MindShift Gear make some fantastic camera-centered packs that are more suited for extended hiking including accommodations for hydration bladders if that's what you're planning your gear around.

1. Top access is essential to get out a Camera+telephoto lens or some other key gadget/item - in Seconds. Please could you enable this b’pack with a zipped Top Access Flap [check out Vanguard Alta Sky packs for excellent example]. It is too often awkward in a hurry and/or in tight/muddy spot to put the bag flat and open up the back or side panels (where items always topple out). Yes, one can swing it around on the hipbelt but this needs swing-space. Top access is quickest etc! The Alta Sky packs make Top-Access the central feature for not only outdoor genres (obviously wildlife) but also in tight spots - airplanes, in vehicle, crowded cafes to name just three very common situations. It follows the corresponding opening is also required for Top Access on the Medium and Large camera Cubes. 2. The rain cover should be permanently attached, albeit hidden under the Outer Magnetic Flap - irritating with so many other brands where it’s loose some place in the bag, waiting to go AWOL. 3. I understand the difficulty of adding a conspicuous flap on to the outside of the pack.... BUT how about a robust Fold Out Cube folded into its “Hideout” within the Outer Magnetic Pocket? Said flap will fold in with the RainFly. We can fold out this Pouch to form to outside pocket to secure the feet of tripods and all kinds of awkward gadgets/items that are strapped outside? 4. You use a gripped Nikon D800 as your design guide- the hotshoe stands (just) proud. What are the actual dimensions? A Gripped D850 stands 170mm This will be 5mm taller with attached arca-swiss or L-plate. Next Video - please demonstrate how a big telephoto lens fits in the Large Camera Cube. You had one there but it then got shoved aside :-( Many clients pack primes of max dia. close to 175mm (hood) _ eg. the 400 f2.8 and 600 f4 Nikkors. I see the current dimensions are 330 x 430 x 180mm. Could be tight for these bigger items! Please clarify this with a live demo.

Hello people of _Peak Design_ I've some questions about that bagpack. *_1.-_* Are you going to create that product in other colors? I like that in black *BUT* I'm afraid that will decolored with the use... And the green/grey is we can say _'strange'_ even compared with other products like Everyday bagpack. *_2.-_* Is the textil resistent? I'm "lucky" because I'm not a photographer but here in Spain is common in some areas that some robbers will cut the bags to reach out the cameras or other goodies... These people need a big hug. *_3.-_* When will be the next hangout? Thanks in advance and good luck with the new line!

You know? I've had an idea, why not a cube/pouch as _textile portable fridge_ for the people who love to walk on nature? I mean, a _small/medium_ (and maybe a _large one_ too) for those who loves to carry with them while hiking, walking and so on? In example, a small fridge pouch, with a _tech pouch_ with a _camera cube_ and *_voilà_* you are ready to spend a day in the mountains!

I've always wondered if a 5L sling will work well with a backpack (the PD Everyday backpack or any other camera backpack). It would be great if you guys can show more about how you would use them (either with the Everyday backpack, or the travel backpack) together. (some pro tips?) Another question is, as you' talked about the option of taking out the camera cube and checking the backpack in separately (which is quite possible if you happened to buy too much things during the trips), will you guys come up with some cover or protection for the backpack, so that they won't be damaged during the rough and brutal luggage transfer process? (The backpack might be tough enough to handle it, but I think many of the future users don't fancy serious scratches on their bag).

Hey guys! Great stuff. I was wondering if there was ANY chance they could implement the inner side pockets (like the ones on both side access doors of the Everyday Backpack or the one in the flap of the Slings) to the side access doors of the Travel Pack. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Seriously, the Travel Backpack is soooo dope, and I love how Peak Design finds functionality in every corner of their bags... But I feel that on their current state the inner part of the side doors aren't being taken whole advantage of. I know it's a long shot, but having experienced the convenience those kind of pockets give on everyday use, I just wanted throw that out there.

For 'admin pouches' if you're referring to the wash and tech pouches, there is some extra space in the main compartment beyond the 'three units' measurement they use for filling the volume of the bag which can fit an extra pouch. If you mean the pouches on the inside of the front compartment and the Organization Panel, if those pockets are packed full the bag does have the capacity to flex outwards if needed due to the nature of soft-sided bags plus there's the extra 10L expansion zips around the front compartment that can be opened up for more space.
