All of this!! Big coffee drinker here. We usually pack a small Keurig in our suitcase to not have to pay $47892753/cup at the resort (used to stay at Swan that didn't offer the refillable cup), so i totally get your coffee as a non-negotiable. As a NJ resident, we haven't had access to plastic bags since May 2022 and boy do we miss them. They are so useful in so many ways.... so cherish them bc when they are gone you will miss them LOL. I think my #1 non-negotiable is the first aid kit filled with all sorts of over the counter meds. I used to not bring this thinking I can just buy them if I need them, but its so much easier just having a little bit of everything just in case!

@@dawnbeinlich2390 Yes! One of those small Keurigs would be perfect! Ah I forgot that some states have done away with them. I will cherish every one! 😉 Meds is a GREAT one! We usually carry a med case with us too AND there was a time that we also had an ankle and knee brace/support as well. Just incase, cause my knees such & don't get me started on Russ' ankles! We tried to find one during a trip once and NEVER AGAIN!

Yes! I love having a larger charging brick so everything is in one spot. Then I am less likely to forget something charging. I always pack a clip to keep the curtains together so no light comes in through the windows in case the curtains don't close all the way.

Another great tip! I usually use pants hangers, but I sometimes bring a handful of clothes pins as well!

I agree with everything you bring, I don’t bring coffee because I’m not a coffee drinker, but I do bring instant drink mixes with me. (1 just to add flavor, one that has caffeine and b vitamins, and one that has electrolytes) I also like to bring a small night light for the bathroom so you don’t have to turn on the big overhead light during the night. I also bring and eye mask and earplugs so that I can sleep when I want/need to.

Nice! I have a few drink mixes like that and they are not only delicious, but a lifesaver! A night light is another GREAT one! IT can get so dark in those rooms and no one wants to fumble around just trying to find the bathroom in the middle of the night!

💯 agree👍🏻😃 and I will add USB fan, nightlight, flashlight and a travel alarm clock. Thanks for sharing 👋🏽👋🏽😃

Nightlights are a FANTASTIC addition to the "Non-Negotiable" list as is that USB fan! I have one that usually comes along with me as well, usually when I'm doing longer trips at multiple hotels I'm unfamiliar with. Not having a ceiling fan at night sucks, but having a fan [even if it's just blowing on your face] I find can be helpful when a room feels too still. Nice!

My husband is a coffee before his eyes are open kinda guy.. I found a foldable electric kettle that we take. We have taken it to Rome- Venice folds down flat. It's a game changer.. they have a few styles on Amazon..

So those really work hah? I've been very curious about those, especially for when we do some traveling where space is more previous than it is at the moment, but have been a little skeptical. That would definitely be nice though!

Oooh I didn't know about the AC being motion activated, thanks for that info!
@2foolishmortals2 ай бұрын
No problem! Yeah, it's not EVERY hotel and I don't have a running list for you, but some have the motion sensor; others don't. Having a way to keep movement in the room is a major game changer.

Kat, why bring a jar of instant coffee? Wouldn't a few scoops in a baggy make more sense? Or K-cups. Isn't there a Keurig in the room? And why do you bring a kettle instead of using the microwave to heat water? That's like bringing your own ice bucket. Our must-have is bringing our own pillows.
@2foolishmortals2 ай бұрын
It depends on the situation. In this case, I had just the right amount of coffee to get us through the duration of the stay and wasn't limited on space, so transferring to a baggie wasn't necessary. Not all rooms have keurigs. This room had a standard coffee maker. Some we've been in recently have Cuisinart makers that take special pods/pucks. . . so there's no real way to be certain of what exactly you need. The kettle is faster and more reliable than most microwaves in the rooms we've been in over the years AND not all rooms have coffee mugs. In this room there are no mugs, only paper cups which I don't believe can be microwaved; certainly not for long enough. . . so it's not quite like bringing your own ice bucket. 😆
