Yo! Nice digs man. I took the pre-reqs and was accepted to a pretty selective nursing school here in town, but that was 1.5 years ago. I could've been staring at the finish right now, but I'm still broke, still changing my major, still uncommitted to anything because as you said in one of your comments - nurses can be petty AF! I worked nights as a PCT on a drama filled Trauma floor. I was the only dude and if you can believe it, was constantly harassed by the women. It wasn't in a bad way, per se, but it got really annoying. So I decided against nursing school. Anyway, life's been making me consider just going through with it and trying a different hospital or something. How do you deal with the petty crap and the drama? Some ppl told me to just wheel a computer down the hall like float nurses do and to stay out of it, but I dunno. (also, night shift is the absolute worst for me.) Anyway. Long comment, my bad, but any perspective or encouragement would be mad appreciated. Thanks brother

Hey there young man. Just wanted to say that if nursing is what you want to do then go for it. There are so many rewarding things to gain as a nurse and all nurses aren't petty 😀 I say give it all you got and live your life.

Hey Jeff, I’m really impressed with your journey. After leaving school a few years back, I’m ready to pursue nursing school. You seem like a really smart dude. School hasn’t been super easy for me but I’m ready to buckle down. How were you able to obtain your Bachelors degree and then get into nursing school and THEN go back for crna?? That’s crazy my dude. Much respect 💪🏼

When you look for units to stay in when you travel, what are your requirements? Do they let you rent wherever you please? Or are you strictly doing airbnb?

@@JeffFallout I would like to rent units out to traveling nurses, are there any pointers that you could give me so that my place would be more appealing to traveling nurses? I may have availability in Sacramento near major hospitals like Kaiser. I'd like some feedback.

Recently got offered a job in the cvicu at a level 1 trauma center. Any tips on surviving?
@JeffFallout4 жыл бұрын
Nice! Id say ask questions if you are ever uncertain about something. Learn how the heart works and the path of bood as it rins through it , the vasopressors, ionotropes, and sedation meds and the titration rates that they use at your facility. Know you acls protocols. Familiarize yourself with the defibrillator used in your unit. Lol try to be nice to everyone i know i may be hard sometimes cause nurses can be petty af lol so at some point you will need help on the unit so try to be more or less limed by your peers... Seriously tho some of these nurses will watch you drown and not lift a finger its crazy. Lol also this is the most important thing... Always put you name on the white board this is how we actually save lives on the unit 🤣🤣. But I wish you the best of luck fam. These tips will take you a long way but most of your learning will be on the fly. Welcome to cvicu.

Jeff Fallout amazing advice bro. I graduate and take my boards in May I’m nervous. I’m thinking about starting out in ER.
@JeffFallout4 жыл бұрын
@@armanibuchanan19 Thanks bro! Congrats on graduating soon and good luck on board! I would say use uworld that's what I mainly used and I passed after 75 questions. Definitely try to get in ER also. I myself almost got hired in ER at this level 1 trauma center as my fisrt job. But there was this personality test I had to take there and based of the results the management told me I was not a good fit personality wise based on a test. I thought it was crazy af lol but it all worked out in the end now im in the Icu doing my thing. Moral of the story don't settle, follow your dreams, and always set new goals.

It seems your pretty content with your decision to become a travel nurse. All materialistic, nevertheless you seem content. Looking forward to your next step in life.
@JeffFallout4 жыл бұрын
Lol not all materialistic but money does play a huge factor why do a job if your not getting pain fairly? But im definitely happy I took the plunge and mooved out here. Its a total shift in patient care and work culture that is far beyond what im used to in the hospitals I have worked for in Florida. Glad you like the video. Im not sure if your a nurse of not but if you are and you have the opportunity to do an assignment definitely do it lol.
