Those castles look great. Your Airbnb was pretty nice too. Love the education incorporated in the video. Liked #3 and Subscribed. Michael & Melissa c/t

Thanks guys! Yes, the airbnb was great in the sense that there was a lot of space and you could walk into the center of the village to get dinner :)

I’m so bummed we didn’t visit the Douro River valley when we were in Portugal…we just ended up a little short on time, but if we ever go back, we’ll start here. It looks beautiful…love the little towns you visited, and of course, the wine! It doesn’t look like many people visit the castle…seems like you have it all to yourselves! Good information, as always…thanks for sharing!

Nice video! Brings back fond memories for me. Spent a couple of month in the area from Braganca to Geres in the north to Penafiel in the early 80s. Some of these villages didn't even have electricity. Happy to see that if you go off the beaten path the soul of Portugal is still to be found.

The Douro valley is spectacular!!! I agree with you 100% on how you could spend a lifetime here! I didnt realize the history of the region in regards to the battles against the Roman empire. The Lusitanians seem like a group of people that stood up for themselves against seemingly an insurmountable force and were triumphant. The castle looks amazing and no doubt was a center of many epic events back when survival was in jeopardy. The Douro region is such a unique terrain that has adapted to take advantage of the best of Portugal.

Start with the Indian classical music and then the nice information on the town and its historic architecture. Nice blend and balance in the video.

I've said this before but I love your info and history inserts - gives great context instead of just seeing visuals and music. The insert at 5:00 blows my mind with the depth of history in that area. I've listened to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History episode on the Gaelic Wars and it reminds me of these movements of people and cultures in the Iberian peninsula. Awesome job! -c/t

Thank you so much! Yes the Airbnbs are so cheap and every time the owner (or a family member) greets you and makes you feel so at home :)

Wow!! My husband and our 3 kids are traveling to Portugal to see both Spain and Portugal but we can’t decide on the north or south!!! Which amazed you most??
@daneandjillie98032 жыл бұрын
Oooooo well the south has more tourism but is very very beautiful…. I’d say we like central and south Portugal the best and the north of Spain the best.
