i I just want to say I’m a fairly seasoned blind traveler and I hate preboarding. Flight attendants are much more likely to try and take my cane when I’m the only person they have to pay attention to instead of when I’m walking up the jetway in the middle of a line of people. I also find I have a much easier time orienting to a plane when there are already people there making noise and I have to find my seat instead of being guided there by someone who thinks their job is to find it for me so I don’t have to. I get the other side because it is indeed harder to get situated with my cane when the plane isn’t empty but I’m more than happy to make that trade for an overall calmer flight. There's no one right way to travel blind, find what works for you no matter what anyone else has to say about it.

Very good information. I personally have never had a flight attendant try to take my cane in any situation so can’t speak to how boarding early impacts that myself.

The other app that I would definitely recommend for any kind of travel experience is Be My Eyes, it’s free and has gotten me into and out of various situations as I have traveled that has made my experience better overall
