@chantellbritto8559 it was difficult to digest food without pain and cramping. Also I lost abt 25 pounds once I implemented the AIP diet/protocol. I had a great functional nutritionist to help. Skin cleared up as well.

0:05 inflammation ruins mental health more than people realize, it's why taking a comprehensive approach (diet, exercise, therapy, meditation, etc) is so necessary!

Food that alleviate inflammation according to this video : 1) Fatty Fish (Omega 3) - Salmon, Sardines, Mackerel. 2) Leafy green vegetables - Kale, Spinach. 3) Berries - Blueberries, Strawberries, Blackberries. 4) Nuts and Seed - Walnuts (in particular), Almonds, Flaxseed, Chia seeds. 5) Turmeric 6) Fermented food - Kefir, Sauerkraut, Yogurt *** Make sure to eat a variety of this food regularly, be consistent in consuming these foods, and pair this food with a balanced diet that includes a variety of vegetables, fruit, lean protein, whole grains. CUT the consumption of food that causes inflammation (processed meat, refined sugar, trans fat like fried food). *** Listen to your body; watch out to how different food makes you feel and adjust your diet accordingly.

Be extremely careful going on a fermentation diet. If you're at risk of developing histamine intolerance, you're screwed. You're gonna lose your teeth from infections - at least that's what happened to a family member.

People always recommend flaxseed but I’m pretty sure it is only digestible in the form of flaxseed oil. As a seed it’s just fiber that cleans you out but I don’t think you get nutrients from it. From what I read, I could be wrong.

I wish those were more easily accessible where I live. Microdosing was my next step for my husband. He's 59 & dealing with lots of mental health challenges, possible CTE & a TBI that put him in a coma for 8 days. Unfortunately, I had to get a TPO since he's 6'6, over 300 pounds, and showing violent behavior, constantly talking about harming others. He's aggressive. To anyone reading this, if you're familiar with BPD, is it common to have an obsession with violence?

Being gluten free helps me have less inflammation. Any time I get “glutened,” the next day my body is so heavy and inflamed; including my brain. I’m depressed for a week until the gluten starts getting out of my system. I don’t have major depressive episodes anymore because I’m strictly gluten free!

Happy New Year, Dr. Marks, and thank you for sharing this important information. I used an anti-inflammatory diet to heal my gut and put my autoimmune thyroid disease into remission, something doctors say is impossible. I really love eating like this. I also wanted to mention that if your viewers don't like sauerkraut or kimche, fermented pickles are another option. They're super easy to make at home, but if you want to buy them, they're the ones in the refrigerated section of the grocery store. Tada!

What about me , a person with social anxiety, who can't interact with people because he fears them.. all of them! He fears to say something wrong, fears to look somewhat stupid, or with less experience in life as he looks grown up with 21 years old, but lacks a lot of experience relative to his peers. . I'm too far away than anyone. . It really does hurt ! I wish i can love someone and be loved without being hurt or left out, rejected, or looked as someone who's not capable of anything, good or bad.. Someone who can't protect himself let alone his loved ones or his soul mate.. soulmate who never existed, and it may not be existed.. because he is not sufficient for that .

and don't go thinking your mental issues are inflammation because food and diet does not touch childhood trauma, lack of human connection, loneliness, and touch deprivation. People love to dilly-dally and piddle around with their diet and lifestyle, trying to abate emotional discomfort, not addressing that they are actively being neglected. When you think the things you're doing are making a difference and help for a little while, and then stop, that was just a distraction being a honeymoon effect.

Dude, for real?! 😳 whoahaow. This makes so much sense. Thank you for bringing this up! ❤ I know that nutrition is so important in managing things like ADHD (along with excercise, espeically cardio) and I’ve heard from my fringier diet loving friends that gluten free really reduces inflammation for them and makes a huge difference but that it also makes it difficult to eat anywhere but their own home even though the gluten free trend is catching on now like veganism did a couple decades ago and all that. I just tend to think if you eat meats, fish, whole grains, and plenty of different whole fruits and veggies more than you eat the processed and sugary stuff, you’ll probably be better off in general. But these days that’s as expensive as child care. 😂 🤣 😆 right?

It sounds like she's reading a list of my complaints of the last several years. I have all of these symtoms. I also eat all of these foods regularly. My unique problem is that I have a digestive problem that none of the doctors I've seen have any idea what the problem is. Roughly two to three hours after I eat, my abdomen blows up like a balloon and stays that way for several hours to several days. The only was I've found to manage my inflamation is to not eat for around three days after I have a huge reaction. Then once it calms down, I can eat one meal a day. I've been experimenting with eating within an 8 hour window, every other day. Which works most of the time so far. If there is anyone out there that may know what I have, please let me know. Either I eat and my mood is terrible, or I don't eat and I'm miserable.

all very worthwhile and sound scientific advice but please don't forget to mention what to STOP eating which is the single biggest cause of inflammation in the body in the first place, and that is refined sugar. Not the kind of sugar in an orange or other fruit (which is a complex carb), but the kind of sugar from refined breads, and pastas etc..., all of which are converted to sugar once swallowed. Inflammation is the cornerstone of many chronic and degenerative diseases. It's imperative to prevent chronic inflammation from eliminating its food causes, more than try to cure it from adding food choices. I hope that came out clearly.

Depression is complex. Definition related to clear psychosocial as opposed to inflammationary factors only. Is needed perhaps ? But very helpful overall 😊

Irritable bowel syndrome is being a big issue, having a balanced diet is not always easy because of the symptoms I suffer from. I like eating my greens, but my bowel doesn't always agree xD this video sum ups a lot of useful info. Thanks!

This is so interesting to me. I grew up eating a lot of fast food and pizza and candy as a kid. Now I’m just pretty much used to that kind of diet now. I’ve always been overweight my whole life, and I really struggle with how I eat and my body image. I love this kind of content, but my behaviors are so well developed now that I feel like I won’t ever be able to live a truly healthy life.

Stop buying that food, only you can break the habit. Good luck

Similar story here. What I've found helps for me is: 1- hanging out with friends or in restaurants that serve food that's both healthy and actually delicious 2- recreating those recipes at home one at a time (as a gradual replacement) or even better cooking with a friend. Going it alone hasn't really worked for me, I may be the one doing the effort to change, the help from others has been irreplaceable though!

Add things instead of leaving food out. Instead of just pizza, burgers etc. eat a salad on the side. Or start with eating veggie pizza. When you're making pasta, sneak some veggies and lentils into the sauce etc.

My bloating causes my irritation and sensitivity. Hence I loose my cool so fast and the constant need of laying down makes me even more irritated as it can happen at any time and anywhere.
