While you are out in California, you might also want to check out another strange lake on the California/Oregon border called 'Goose Lake.' It's been called 'the biggest mud puddle in the west.' The one time I was there it had a very unusual, eerie and desolate ambience.

US 395 and US 50 are beautiful roads!The first time I traveled from Italy to the US I ended up in the Owens Valley by chance, since then I had to come back and again and again and again.

What's depressing is Hawthorn lake in Hawthorn NV. Look into that disaster. Right near Mono as well.

There is no Interstate 50; the road through Nevada is US Highway 50.

Roan Kattouw ah good catch. While it does stretch from east to west coast, it's not part of the interstate system. 👍🏻
