glad you decided to try a local mom and pop joint (Masa and Joyce Okazu-ya). Chicken Katsu plate lunches are popular here with us local people. Marihuana requires a valid medical card here in Hawaii so recreational use is still illegal. The State General Excise Tax here on the island of Oahu is 4.712% on all items (except medical prescriptions), while on the other Hawaiian islands it is 4.167%. The difference is because on Oahu, we locals and tourists alike are helping to pay for the rail system (that is only 50 percent completed (from near Aloha Stadium in Aiea to the Kapolei area in use and will be completed by 2030 at a (present cost of over $10B). You should have just tried the OG version of Leonard's Bakery's malasada (plain meaning NO filling inside... either the granulated sugar, or the mixed granulated sugar and cinnamon ! Those two are still my favorites ! Pearl Harbor Memorial is soo important in US and World History as here is where US because of the bomb attack entered that *started* World War II and the USS Missouri battleship (which is docked there) is where WWII *ended* as Japan signed the surrender treaty on the deck of that battleship (as the Germans surrendered a few months earlier in 1945). Thank you ! So my man booked it maybe 2 months in advance , once I got there I just went on Groupon to find all the tours and luaus that were available during the time I was there
