Hello sweeties! For the past 2 days I have been working on this travel ASMR Vlog video, in which I will show you tons of footage of the Netherlands, a house tour, hotel tour and walking the streets. This time around I really wanted to capture what it is like to walk the streets of my home town and what it is like to be on a bike in the Netherlands. What a treat this was! I’ve always enjoyed your footage of the Netherlands but this one was much more intimate and detailed, what a beautiful place. Thank you for even thinking of us while you were there and sharing all this with us. Seeing the changes to the place where you grew up is always a strange experience, for me it makes me feel melancholy and I feel a longing to go back in time but I’m 62 years old so I’m sure age has something to do with that. Anyway, this was wonderful and I thank you so much for sharing it with us. Congrats again!

I get what you mean about the dystopian feeling of going to your old street and seeing how much it changed. I grew up in an itty bitty small american town that over the years has become a filming location for shows and movies and turned into a booming tourist spot. I recently took some family there to show them around and it was overwhelming to say the least. I recognized so many things but was really dissociated like you said by seeing all the new things and all the people there now. It felt like a world I knew so well was there and not there at the same time. Surreal and a little sad, the march of time.

Sorry for the loss of your friend - I watched your & his & vids already in 2012 & only now do I see that he did much more than cover ASMR! Thank you so much! i didn't take a lot of footage in Amsterdam as we were only there for 1 day and we didn't really go sight seeing other than go to the places we needed to go :) As I am from Haarlem and not Amsterdam I spend most of time in my old hometown :)

For me it's so funny to see all these places where I grew up too! seeing you cycling through H'stede, know the old NZH building, it's a pity it was demolished. It looked good in Haarlem. A nice house where you lived when you were 16-18 with your foster parents. It is clear that it was a busy program and you can get tired. You got to see many friends and relatives. Your grandfather looks fit for his age.

We wanted to get to Haarlem our first day to see St. Bavo, but our flight was severely delayed due a blizzard in Denver 🙄. We loved Netherlands, you have me yearning to return!

Alle antwoorden zitten in de video ;) Ja het is haarlem en de markt in het centrum is op Zaterdag van 7 of 8 tot 4 uur s'middags :) Noor Brabant is ook leuk! Ik heb zelf een aantal jaren in Fijnaart gewoont!

I totally understand :) Maybe I will film those particular things some other time as this was my first time being back after 6 years and it was my honeymoon, so I didn't record or take pictures of most of the food. Just wanted to enjoy those moments without having to record everything.

It was around 13-15 degrees Celsius which definitely isn't warm on a bike where you also have the wind :)

Waarom gaan jullie niet in haarlem wonen?

Van wat ik van mijn familie heb gehoord is dat er een 10 jaar wachtlijst is voor haarlem op dit moment. Maar dat is niet de enige rede. Ik ben in 2013 met 4 koffers naar Canada vertrokken. w hebben nu een huurhuis met 4 verdiepingen, vol met spullen. Het is erg duur om naar een ander continent te verhuizen al helemaal als je spullen wilt versturen en daar hebben we het geld voor de aankomende jaren zeker niet voor. Aanbetaling voor een huis is op dit moment ook niet te doen helaas.
