My daughter, son in law, and three granddaughters live in Auckland. We did a trip to Rotorua spent the day riding these carts, like a big wheel, pull the steering handle back to free the front wheel and the faster you go. Loved it, no waver to sign, saw people crash, road rash, Love this country.

You actually rode the beginners'/slow course in this video. The other two tracks are way faster. The extreme one has a small drop on it where you can catch a bit of air time. It used to be a lot more extreme but they had to slow it down due to health and safety.

As someone who grew up on a Flexy Racer hitting higher and higher speeds, I can totally appreciate this. After my third set of wheels had worn down, Flexy was no more! But my top speed of 65mph down the neighborhood streets was probably enough fate tempting for any one individual! PS On a Flexy, you have practically no brakes and ride prone, HEAD FIRST!!! An absolute aerodynamic missile and death trap all in one!

Ok the guys are getting annoying but this is racing with friends. You don’t have to know about F1 to participate in fun races with friends like this. In this case, knowledge about racing can help with overtakes and defense, but they don’t have to follow the rules of racing. It’s just a fun day with friends for them.

Reminds me of the "Alpine Slide" at Action Park in NJ in the 80's.. people would have no idea how to slow down at turns, use the brake on the cart and literally go flying off the tracks onto rocks or pavement... There were 5 or 6 ambulances waiting at the bottom of the ride, knowing they would have casualties every day! After too many lawsuits, the park closed down... but do have some great memories of going there!

I went there last year. There are 3 tracks. There is an advanced track where you go so fast you get air borne. I almost shit myself. But after landing perfectly i felt like a pro!

It's actually quite dangerous...but if you crash and gravel rash yourself New Zealand has an Accident Compensation regime which fixes injuries to NZers and visitors. You cannot sue for damages or injuries. It means the money that goes to fixing people up doesn't go into lawyers' pockets...

Because the owner might get sued (and jailed) if you went off a cliff, hit a tunnel wall or tree. Which looks real easy to do if you don't know what your doing or are just plain reckless. Insurance to operate an attraction like that would be insanely expensive in the usa..... if you can get it at all. Not to mention approval from the feds. So, you will have to leave the country for this kind of fun.
