There is a sentence in Poland and Hungary. Pole and Hungarian are two nephews up to the saber and into the glass. Hungarian goulash is a soup. Polish goulash is stew. This pancake is often called a pancake in the Hungarian style. They don't know this dish in Hungary. The only thing that connects this dish is the word goulash. I recommend soup Żurek from the kitchen of farmers. For a vegetarian, there may be a red borscht soup with dumplings (ears - uszka).Delicious is a Polish duck (duck stuffed with apples), knuckle in beer (Golonka). Poland is famous for its sausages. Krakow is famous for its dry Krakowska sausage. Strong alcohol is Żubrówka vodka (a bison vodka) She must be served in a drink "szarlotka"(apple pie). Polish traditional apple pie is delicious. Bon appétit

@@TravelBeans Funny fact: Poland has loats of dishes that are named as if they were foreign origin, but usually natives from those countries never heard of it:) We have: - Hungarian (or Bohemian) potato panceke (this is what you had) - British (Bretagne?) Beans - Ukrainian Barsch - Russian (more like Ruthenian actually) pierogies - Greek fish - Italian ice cream - french croissant (rogal - that is not close to what French call croissant) - jewish herring and more...
@MrMeduzification6 жыл бұрын
@@panciopinczera7488 Why did you include Ruthenian pierogies on that list? The name origins from Red Ruthenia and it has nothing to do with Russia and so called "foreign origin", as Red Ruthenia territory belonged (and a part of it still belongs) to Poland . The problem is that most of the shops, restaurants and so on translate "ruskie" as "russian", where it should be "ruthenian", as you mentioned. Still - this ain't foreign.
@panciopinczera74886 жыл бұрын
@@MrMeduzification Thats my point - neither of those dishes is foreign. And, like you saisd- many people think "ruskie" somes from russian, hence why its on the list...
@MrMeduzification6 жыл бұрын
@@panciopinczera7488 And still, as all dishes are "fake foreign", you can't put the Ruthenian pierogies on that list. They just don't fit there, if you know that "ruskie" is from Ruthenia and not from Russia. It isn't "fake foreign", if there isn't anything foreign in the name. "Lots of dishes that are named as if they were foreign origin" - there's nothing foreign about Red Ruthenia

My wife and I are in Krakow for a vacation and we went to Szynk today! It has changed since you guys were there, but the food was great, the service was great, and the restaurant is just adorable! I had the same dish as you Alex, but they've upped their plating game significantly - still delicious though! My wife had the Beef Tripe soup and it was even better than the goulash! Seriously, anyone in Krakow go check it out.

Apple Juice and Vodka. Ok, but not just regural vodka! Apple juice and Żubrówka! The Bison Grass Vodka! That's special treat! "Like most vodkas, żubrówka is usually served chilled on its own. A very popular alternative is mixing it with apple juice (a drink known in Polish as tatanka (Lakota for "American bison") or szarlotka (Polish for "apple cake"); known in the UK as a Frisky Bison; and in the US as a Polish Kiss). It is sometimes served over vanilla ice cream,[9] and another common mixer is ginger ale. While a "Black Bison" is żubrówka mixed with black currant juice.

and people don't usually mention the potato pancakes because if you ask me... I didn't even think it was such a specifically polish thing! And it's also like a meal you eat at home that is easy to make and is quite lazy... while making things like golonka or pierogi is a hussle and it's not something you eat other than in restaurants or on holidays! It's easy to be vegetarian/vegan in Poland because of Catholicism - yeah. Due to religious rule Poles avoid meat (except fish) on Fridays - so there is always plenty of vegetarian and vegan options around (and for all week cuz restaurants don't want to make a special menu for one day of the week).
