Not really if the numbers and mechanic are still low. Plenty of main story characters can easily be designed to have `lower damage numbers` but instead exclusive gimmicks to make them useful, which if a game`s content has to be massively disrupted by one `free` character being super flexible, then thats a problem on the design of the game itself. Also would of been way more interesting to make imaginary theater just focus on using only the traveler and you would have allies recruited from your roster as you progress, that instead of switching to play normally, could of done elemental bursts thru some special system like how the off-field switch in to reaction works, but not switch to the character. Never the less, its not Traveler that would be OP, its just dendro is just broken but since it still scales off of whoever does the proc, traveler doing self procs alone without being massively buffed by numerous other units would be extremely piss poor in the damage itself. In a nutshell: Just let Traveler be able to use 2 elemental skills of thar own choosing and the elemental burst just determines what the main element would be. Would be more interesting to let them get 2 elemental skills and 1 elemental burst they can choose freely between though, but Mihoyo with Genshin just wanna be greedoyo.

@@bisayafascist5725 Same thing, they show it in-game both with in-game model cutscenes & rendered cutscenes and in-combat cutscenes with you immediately fighting said boss and often times force you to use ONLY that trial character, then it makes literal no sense. Atleast Star rails and Wuthering waves got it right with handling new forms: -Trailblazer got both of its new forms via climatic moments near the end of the story, the first one immediately putting you in a tutorial section of using it but already prove to be so broken as fk ingame when they gave you that spear. -Rover, straight up follow back on the bread crumbs when you `ate` a Crownless directly instead of using the panhua terminal by having it happen again with the Dreamless fight and then you straight up use a black winged form to fight the boss and it was just much more focused on DPS that it was fun. Genshin impact? Literally the whole `acquiring an element` is more of an afterthought and treated as not much of a beeg deal, so them now taking some story reason why you cant get pyro `energy` from a statue and then showing you can freely flip between elements is just another mark to why the fk you cant free swap in-game and have to go to specific statues every time. Moral of the story: Mihoyo not patching in with 5.0. the ability to freely change elements thru a menu toggle is gonna continue to bite genshin in the arse as its been for years all the way since Liyue when you used `two elements` simutaneously to fight Childe with.

Nathlan is now just rubbing salt further in all the bloody gashes from the cutscene troll age that’s been going on since the VS Childe moment. This is why I find trailblazer and rover to be a fine example of keeping it simple and not make it a massive time waste for something as simple as element swapping.

I have a theory on why it happened. It's because the Pyro element will only be unlocked in the final chapter of the story When the Pyro Archon will give the Gnosis to the traveller and not to the Fatui. Because if the Fatui have the last Gnosis, what is there to stop Tsaritsa's Plan of Rebelion against the Heveanly principles. Also, it will move the story forward for the next nation, Schneznaya if the Traveler has the Pyro Gnosis by the end the Fatui will focus solely on the Traveler to get it no matter what and what a better advantage in the Home nation of the Cyro Archon. The biggest evidence that I have was from the very beginning when Dainsleif explained the Nation of War is. "THE PYRO ARCHON SHARED HER SECRETS WITH THE TRAVELLER". And to my understanding with that level of trust to be able to sharre her deepest secrets to the traveller has a high chance of the Pyro Archon to rely and depend on Aether/Lumine for the future of the people in Natlan.

Remember back at the end of the Prologue Archon Quest in Mondstadt. Traveler and Paimon apologizes to Venti for using Ameno powers granted by him without asking. Basically Traveler is able to resonate with the elemental powers up to this point is through an Archon's existence. Despite the Hydro Archon destroying her seat among the Seven, she returned her rite to Neuvillette and as such that isn't the issue. The fact the Traveler can't obtain Pyro is a bad sign that something is wrong with the Pyro Archon such as the Pyro Archon no longer exists in that sense. With what we know about Ancient Names and those being inherited, it's likely the Pyro Archon also goes by those rules and what happened is the current Pyro Archon did not inherit that ancient name as it has been made nonexistent and so the current Pyro Archon is Archon in name only and does not have the rights an Archon would have. Sucks the livestream unveiled this part because I wished that was kept hidden for that shock factor.

Doesn't mean she isn't an actual archon. It's that the authority is being used for something else. As she later explains why natlanteans can't leave the nation. So Mavuika will give the Traveler the Pyro gnosis and use the authority of pyro.

Geo traveler and Zhongli has the same kit but Zhongli's is superior, all archon's (excluding Furnia's since Traveler's hydro kit doesn't copy her and that their kit is just a weaker form of Neuvillette's.) kits are just refined and powerful versions of traveler's.

My guess that the Traveller will acquire the Pyro Vision, after he reach the end of the Natlan Story Quest. Ah well. This made me think of a possibility of what the Snezhnaya Story Quest be like. Similar to Inazuma, you cannot just travel and waltz into Snezhnaya like no problem as the Tsaritsa would kick you out like what Raiden Shogun did unless you must complete these story quests to be allowed to enter Snezhnaya. Another thing is just like what happen in Natlan, you cannot the acquire the Cryo Vision with the Snezhnaya's Statues of the Seven so early on unless you must fulfill whatever tasks that upcoming story arc present to you.

Paimon's dialogue actually changes if you do the Archon Quest after lighting up the Statue of the Seven... She comments on that it wasn't a fluke that the Traveler did not get the power of Pyro
