Thanks for sharing the kit. Not convinced the new format is for me. I get indecisive over which side to use, and always have issues trimming cleanly, no matter how careful i am 😂 I also preferred the pattern + white page the TNs used to offer. Having to adhere a plain to the back of the pattern.... that's going to make the pages thick....

Oh I totally understand. I don’t think it’s going to be for everybody. I think what saved me is that I was already trimming down my TNs so using paper isn’t going to make a difference for me. But if you were using the TN you will definitely not enjoy the trimming and the lack of having the notebook itself.

I’m so glad you added the process video because I could not visualize how the paper would work for TNs. It’s probably going to be a lot of backing up the pages because of the different sizes on the back. I’ll wait for more of your awesome videos before I see if I am creative enough to subscribe to this kit. 😊 Your layout was adorable!

So many thoughts on this! Be prepared for a long comment! HA! Studio Calico is by far my favorite kit company. They definitely have a niche in the crafting community and I LOVE the designs of this new kit!!!! I'm sad to see the TN kit disappear. I stopped subscribing to the TN kit because I was primarily getting it for the TN & the stamp, since the embellishments were almost always the same in the TN & Documenter Kits & I didn't need duplicates of everything. I couldn't use the TNs fast enough so they were stockpiling and when the stamp quality went down I stopped subscribing since I had so many TNs in my stash. Hopefully someday the TN kit will reappear or even just a TN be an add-on at some point (no embellishments, just the actual notebook that matches the designs be available as an add-on). I 100% agree about the 3x4 stamp. I would much rather pay extra for a stamp set I can use then have one that I'm going to throw away. I also love that SC offers it as a discount when you add it to your box. Your spread is so cute! What are your thoughts on the papers being 6x8? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think a TN is 8.25, right? Will you use a Peachy Binder just specifically for the smaller sized papers so they all match or does that not bother you? You're right trying to pick a pattern! It would be hard to choose whether or not you want to use the paper side or the cards! I always appreciate your honest opinions on the products, Heba, and love seeing your process! Happy New Year!

I like the idea of them just offering the TN’s. It doesn’t even have to be a monthly release just have them in the shop. But I don’t think they are going to focus on TN’s anymore. I personally think that maybe people aren’t using that size anymore and are working in bigger sizes 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t know but I will definitely miss the TN’s and like you I love SC they are my favorite. I will definitely be giving this a try and honestly I don’t mind the the paper is slightly smaller in height. I can always trim down my paper to match. It’s definitely a learning curve and a big adjustment. Thank you friend!! I feel like I owe it to my followers to share my true thoughts. I will never use something I don’t like or wouldn’t use myself. So thank you for saying that 😘♥️

Lovely layout! I desperately want to get a binder but I have too many empty ring ones to fill before I can 😢. (My first resolution of the year was to use 50% of my stash before I can buy more!) perhaps seeing your post will motivate me.

I've been on the fence about stopping my subscription for various reasons (the paper is less and less my style, stamp sets I don't use, minimal alpha sheet and embellishments in not using). Sounds like it my problem. I just should couldn't find any other TN subscriptions. You've kept me going with them, but I'm not sure about this new format. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas using the new kit. Love everything you do!

I think it’s time for you to move on from SC kits it you are feeling them. I recommend trying a new company and see if that brings you joy. I know how it feels to not be inspired by a kit and it the kit isn’t speaking to you then it’s time to move past it. Good luck dear and I hope you find the right kit for it ♥️

Thank you for the unboxing and all that you do here. So glad to hear that the stamp quality for the kits at least will be improving-- not a subscriber but love to purchase their stamps and have been very disappointed too many times about the lack of sharpness in the stamp. So you know if this will impact all stamps vs just those in the kits?

The add on stamp set have always been great quality. They just had to use a different manufacturer for the kits. So not that it’s not part of the kit the smaller stamp is like the add ons better quality 😁 Thank you ♥️

Thanks for sharing the changes that took place at Studio Calico. It’s rather disappointing that they’re doing away with the TNs. Seems like that may be the end of that trend? I don’t know of anywhere else to get them now. It’s kinda discouraging when companies get us to like something (like a TN), then once we’re loving it and using it, they snatch it away. On the other hand, I guess it’s good that companies are willing to evolve and change.

I honestly don’t think it’s the end of a trend because I’m still working in traveler’s notebooks. You know me I don’t fall for trends I just create in whatever makes me happy. I have plenty of TNs and I’m also using Cocoa Daisy’s TN kit as well so I’m ok with it. But I totally understand the disappointment because I loved SC’s TNs as well. I will miss them but I can make do for now with their paper. I’m actually thinking not to do the traditional PL this year and try it in my Scrappy Spiral Notebook instead. So I’m going to have to trim down the cards from the kit as well 😂

oh, I'm already tired of thinking of all the cutting job that needs to happen before I can use the cards for my project life! Plus let's be honest I can never cut it perfectly. there is always a line of the other design next to it that I need to remove making the cards slightly smaller than the other. It also seems that if you use the 3x4 the back of the cards will look a bit random... I'll have to see, I guess. I also don't use 6x8 in my 9x12 albums, maybe it's time to add them to my albums somehow? It's also a bummer that there are no month embellishments, I always use them at the beginning of a month and the inside of the sending envelope won't do it for me, since I can't really use scissors and the envelop is sometimes not that well after traveling around the world to get to me! But on the bright side, having to choose if you get the stamp or not is a good idea, I already know sometimes that a stamp won't be used because I don't like it or because I already have one similar.

That was what I was thinking too about having the monthly tag as part of the packaging. I kinda like the concept as a means of making use of the packaging... so there's less waste ... really like that. Some of my parcels get banged up by the time they reach me tho... hmmmm🤔

Ya, some of the changes might work for some but not for others. I know a lot of people don’t like to cut their own cards I don’t either but I noticed that I was able to use a lot of my kit and put a big dent in it just by using it to create a few spreads. I think I ended up making two PL layouts, two Tn layout and one layout in my creative journal. I think because it’s all combined you end up using a lot of it in different types of layouts.

I wish the papers were the TN size. I do like the documenter cards, but you pretty much have to have a plastic sleeve for every card/set used. I don’t love having to buy so much plastic for paper crafting. It’s ok for specific projects, but it defeats the purpose if that’s the direction they’re going. I’m going to do my best to use most of the papers in my peaches disc bound tn cover, but will probably look at alternative subscriptions if I don’t feel like I can get the most use out of the kit. Saw that you started working with Cocoa Daisy. Looking forward to seeing your projects!

It’s unnecessary 🤦🏻‍♀️ Yes, I’m excited to work with both companies they are so different in style but I like to put my own little twist on things and make them my own 😁🥰

My pages are 4.25x8.25 and i sometimes use a 1” disc or 1.25” 😁 I think it would be perfect for your list taking TN 🥰
