Love Chic Sparrow covers! I agree with you that they look beter when scratched up and show some use! My pastor preaches from notes on his cell phone, which is cool, but I think preaching from a handwritten sermon, written with a fountain pen, and housed in a leather cover from CS, is next level cool, ha ha! I might have to "penable" Pastor John with a LAMY!

I love hearing your perspective. I have several Lamy Safari plastic pens and the Safari AL (aluminum ones), but haven't tried a Lamy Safari LX. I was, however, enabled/influenced by Ali to buy a Pilot VP Decimo (not the special edition like her) and it has become my absolute favorite pen. I'm trying to resist her talking me into a TWSBI - please tell her that! 🤣🤪

Her pens are probably better. I suppose there are many reasons why she doesn't use LAMY's anymore. I know the Al Stars still have that Safari nib so they look like an LX but write like a Safari. The LXs have their own nibs.

Don't use vegetable oil. There are leather care oils & creams you can buy. And leather darkening oils.
