I've stayed in a capsule hotel once, after a long flight with a long layover in Tokyo. The airport had a hotel attached. Super convenient for being able to wash up and get some rest before traveling without having to spend an exorbitant amount of money on a motel room, like you would have to back in the states. This is why travel is so important--you get to see all the things your home country does well, and the things other countries do better. You realize that nowhere is perfect (though some places certainly come close!)

I love the concept of a capsule hotel. We don't have them here in United States. I love that everything is so clean and quiet and nice. Thank you for taking us with you and showing us around. I want to visit Japan now and try all these things for myself! You truly have a beautiful country! 💛

I can see them springing up in places like NYC where it is so expensive to get a room to sleep in with a few amenities which is all you need when you are a tourist. And even useful for people that work in the city during the week.

Your videos are not just great logs of what one experiences in Japan, they are so relaxing! I love that everything is just ambient sounds and your commentary as subtitles. If this was American there would be a loud “HeY gUyS!!!” followed by endless chatter and silly edits. I’m so glad the algorithm brought me here - I expect you will have millions of views soon!

@@moritod You can visit Japan a lot cheaper than ever nowadays ! Don't give up ! Unless you have some medical issues ,or obligations that stops you ! Business hotels ,capsule hotels ( some are bigger & come w/ windows even ! ) are around $30-$50/night !! And they've got hostels in the cities of Tokyo now ,I recently found out !! They are all super clean, super safe in Japan !! Even if you stay at business hotels there ,you'll be treated like a queen , w/the 1st class treatments !! And they come w/ lots of amenities that blow your mind !! Lol. Avoid our summer as it's way way too humid !! Notorious !! Lol Also rainy season ( Late May ~,especially mid Jun to mid July ) ! Pay attention after 10pm at train/ subway stations as Japanese drink too much even though we can't digest alcohol ,so you'll see lots of 'em vomiting there !! 😅Avoid the peak time ,there are perverts on trains who touch others ,so on ! I always book a capsule hotel for the first and last day when I visit Japan. In case a delay in a connecting flight makes me miss by flight, it's much cheaper to cancel a capsule hotel reservation than a regular hotel. For the last day, i just picked a place that's close to the airport to make it easier to get there and catch my flight. This looks like a good one to try because I love to visit the Tokyo sky tree

Beautiful simple and clean hotel! I think there is a lot of loneliness in Japan now a days. From what I see here there are a lot of people alone by themselves in every aspect of life. It makes me sad. In the world we had another view of Japanese culture where they even shared baths and tables at restaurants with strangers. Is this change due to COVID or social changes?

While I feel strongly, that the major cities in the US should have these, city councils, and large corporate hotel companies, will not allow them. The US used to have something called SROs and they were quite similar to capsule hotels but they were used primarily by the working class and poor and because they were located in downtowns, cause that is where the jobs are, the well healed and tourists were offended by poor people living there, so they were zoned out of existence. (Yes I know I am simplifying the issue, but when all is said and done, those are the reasons.) While I don't know the statistics, I have read that the getting rid of SROs has contributed greatly to the housing/homeless issues facing major cities in America. I think there is merit to this. I know that 25+yrs ago I could move to LA or NYC and find cheap housing until I got a job and could move up. You can not do that nowadays, unless you have family/friends/___ to help you or stay with.
