Something different this week, really enjoyed it. Interesting translation them being referred to as 'hell' - I assume that is due to the heat rather than being a literal hell as they all look cool, especially the petting zoo area. The Chinese lunch looked good and more places should show pictures of the food in menus.

I'd love to stay in a ryokan in Beppu, if I ever get to Japan that is. Our trip to Japan is now on hold because I've got some health issues that have to be monitored and my Son now isn't well which might mean we'll have to wait until next December 😭 Can't wait for the ferry video. Beppu, may be the "city" that produces the most hot spring water, but Yellowstone produces even more hot spring water. Enjoyed the video, especially with the food and the private onsen. BTW, you mentioned it was ￥450 per jigoku but did you pay for each one separately or pay ￥2200 for all the jigoku?

The animals are so cute; in the big downtown park in my city there is a small "zoo" that has two capybaras (your favourite animal!). Once, a few years ago, they ESCAPED from the zoo and many people in the city searched for them for several days, but they were very sneaky and hard to catch! They eventually made it back in the zoo, but it was a funny news headline for those few days..."searching for escaped capybaras on the loose"! 😄
