DUBAI MALL | A day in the WORLD'S BIGGEST MALL 🇦🇪

Welcome to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates! After our visas were canceled to get into Pakistan, we decided to take a long layover in Dubai. There are many things to do in Dubai, but on this trip, we decided to stop at the world's biggest mall: The Dubai Mall. We had several things on our checklist for this luxury Dubai mall visit: Granite wanted a Shack Shack burger, Cedar wanted to go the Dubai Ice Rink, Forest wanted ice cream, and I (Kelly) needed some new travel pants. Jonathan always likes to visit the Virgin Mega Store and on this trip, he went in search of the second-floor to first-floor slides. Watch to find out if he finds that! Also, after years of eating only french fries and shakes at Shake Shack, I find a HUGE (vegetarian) surprise. This was a fun day, especially after making the long journey from India. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

FUN FACT: Forest was born in Dubai! He has a birth certificate in Arabic and in English. He wasn’t able to get dual citizenship, though.

ABOUT US
We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, eight years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in Chennai, India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. We hope that our travels will inspire and provide our children with the confidence to meet new people, try new foods, and enjoy learning a new language. Jonathan, You were right with the mega slide in the virgin megastore. However, you have the wrong mall. The slide in the virgin store is in a different mall called Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi. Hopefully that helps you.

Dubai got so expensive and boring. It has become like a money machine. Pay almost 200 dollars to be on ice for 1 hr? Never even if i were a milioner. When i first visited 20 years ago it was more fun and afordable. Now with half of Moscow moving there, def not fun to visit!!!

Dubai use to have ice hockey tournaments and even ice skating championships in the early 1980s, I remember as a kid living there. There was a huge ice skating rink in the Hyatt Regency hotel on Deira corniche which was built in 1979, I just checked it is still there! Europeans and Westerners have been living in Dubai since the 1960s
