of course when speaking of Manila, the Intramuros and Binondo Chinatown is the first 2 places that comes to mind. But when it's Metro Manila (Manila+ 15 other cities) that will include the most modern side of the Philippines such as BGC and the big malls.

Mall of Asia is located in Pasay City, a distinct city outside the canopy of Metro Manila. Metro Manila will not have many historical artifacts on display. Manila is basically inside NCR (National Capital Region) or Metro Manila as we call it. Manila is where Intramuros and Luneta is located. SM Mall of Asia is located in Pasay City. Metro Manila has many cities, there is Makati City, Taguig - where BGC is located. There is Mandaluyong City where another big SM is located (SM Megamall).

I think the biggest Mall in the Philippines is the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong or SM North EDSA. SM Mall of Asia is bigger by total land area of the entire lot property.
