$100 LUXURY HOTEL in MANILA, PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭 Flying to the Philippines

NEW COUNTRY! Join us as our family travels from Dubai to Manila! We almost didn’t get to go. For the Philippines (and probably most countries) you have to purchase your flights out of the country before they will let you enter it. We didn’t do that ahead of time, so we had to purchase them right at the check-in area at the airport. Other than that, our Philippines travel on Philippines Air went smoothly. Once in Manila, we headed to The Manila Hotel for a few nights of luxury. This hotel is historic and has a huge pool, live piano music, and a delicious buffet. On top of that, this hotel is centrally located to everything we had planned to experience over the next few days (and things we hadn’t planned on like joining the Festival of The Black Nazarene).
This is the start of an epic multi-week vacation in the Philippines! Nothing went as planned for us, but in most instances, it was even better than we had planned. We landed in Manila at the start a of huge festival, then we landed in Cebu at the start of another festival, and we ran out of time to thoroughly explore Palawan (but what we experienced was amazing). We are already looking forward to our next visit to the Philippines. Join us on this adventure and send us any advice you have.

We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, eight years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in Chennai, India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. We hope that our travels will inspire and provide our children with the confidence to meet new people, try new foods, and enjoy learning a new language. Manila Hotel's rich history; Manila hotel was General Douglas MacArthur's headquarters in WW2. The Hotel prides itself as the oldest premiere hotel in the Philippines. When the hotel opened on July 4, 1912, it represented the epitome of colonial class and luxury. Among its distinguished guests were a lot of local and foreign celebrities the likes of Prince Charles, the Beatles, President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Nelson Mandela, Marlon Brando, John Wayne, Sammy Davis Jr., Ernest Hemingway, publisher Henry Luce, James A. It's amazing how you raise your kids 😊 I can tell they love and respect you, and that's probably because you love and respect them first ❤ It's not always the case on being raised in an Asian household because there is love but I think respect from child to parent is not apparent at all cases 😂 Parents tend to rule with iron fist haha. Welcome to Metro Manila Philippines....Lots of things to do for the kids.....nearby is the Manila Ocean Park, and Mall of Asia with lots of things to do, Ice Skating, Bowling, Theater, kids fun things, and outside is lots of entertainment......then there is Okada Manila....for Adult and kids to watch the Colorful Musical Fountain at night starts at 6pm every hour.....and lots of Food Places to eat....
